The usual BS... long time lurker, first time poster haha.

Firstly thanks to all for a great site, lots of great info and honest opinions.. helped me make a quasi-informed decision. Just signed on the dotted line for a 2013 Street Bob in Vivid Black. Should get it mid next week all being well... Really looking forward to it.

So kinda new to the HD thing, had cruisers previously and just coming out of an unhealthy obsession with sports bikes that left me injured and looking to embrace old age in a more upright position.

Already starting to look at pipes for the old girl... Probably post on the Dyna forum but seeing as I'm here and yappin... apart from V&H and Screamin Eagles. Any other recommendations?

Not looking for stupendous performance, more that "sound" ya know... Will they run fine without dicking around with chips, PCV etc etc..

Cheers all, hope to see ya out there.

Thanks for the welcomes and great advice. The pipes are a given and from my limited understanding and scrabbling about the forum a stage 1 is definitely on the cards... Leaning towards the V&H 2-2 Big Radius. They look schweet :)

Same as my previous Ducs and Beemers...gotta chuck a PCV in there to make the most of it... should be taking delivery mid next week so planning all this for the first service. So I reckon the end of next week haha

Minds definitely not made up yet.. tossing around a few ideas. The VH staggered short shots, big radius have grabbed my attention, as
    the Bassani, Thunderheader etc etc

Still scratching my head a bit decision wise... pro's and cons for each, 2 into 2, 2 into 1. More interested in 'sound and tone' over performance. Of course going to get the intake sorted and a PCV or fuel pack at some point too but im more interested in the noise at this point.

Early days, lots of reading to do... but I don't think i'll just throw cash at the dealership and go with whole SE package.

I'm not a SE fan (I'm sure some are) but I'm not the greatest V&H fan either (and I own V&H bigshots) - they are either too loud or too soft for my taste...which wouldn't bother me except the sound is more bark than rumble...imo. Forget reading, try to get out and hear some pipes. Try to ask the owner what baffles he's running too. Then balance the sound against potential cop attention and decide what you can live with.

    Welcome Stressfest!

My Street Bob has Rinehart Racing Crossovers and they're as loud as faark when you give it wide open throttle, but burble nicely if you're behaving yourself commuting.
I've also got a Hi Flow 'Sleeper' air filter and V&H Fuelpak.

The presence of the constabulary calls for VERY judicious use of the the throttle taking off, and a little short shifting, but I think that's a specialist skill all Harley riders develop.

I like the way they sound in what I call 'hot rod mode': riding around a gear lower than where I'd probably be if I wasn't playing...
The crossovers sound crisp and 'bark', with a nice whir coming down on a closed throttle. That's probably the Fuelpak shutting off the fuel.  Partial-throttle pull ups make it pop and fart if that's your bag... school kids love that one. :)
