Been trying unsuccesfully to get some pricing on parts for a crash repair, many of the parts are no longer available (85 FLHTC) making it hard to get a quote written. Anyone got any clues on expediting this? A lot of the stuff could be sorted with later model parts with minimal mucking around, but they seem to insist that everything is year/model specific.

because insurance companys can be pricks with older bikes and thay may just want to write it off easer for them thay go buy book value which we all know is lower than what thay are going for out in the market so if the money value ends up to certin % of the book value bye bye bike but you can choose to keep the bike you may just have to wear some of the cost there just pricks to deal with thats my winge for this morning maybee try what rodders said . and good old flebayfor parts if you come up with a doller figer with the insurance thats what i did but beware there will be broken /bent parts that you dont notice till your putting it back together
