I have a hernia, a bit of neck injury and a bit of lowerback soreness regularly, will riding a Harley regularly or long distances affect these areas?  Anyone had experience in this and ride with a hernia, neck/back issues?

And which Harley is the lighest 2013 model I can get so it's easier on my hernia and neck and back and so I have best ability to not drop it and ability to hold the bike up?

    Cheers!!!

I've got a dodgy back too mate but I find that riding is actually beneficial. Maybe its the low frequency vibrations or whatever but I feel better after a ride. The Mustang seat is a must though...

Check out handle bar height too. Sometimes higher bars (mid-apes) allow you a better riding position. On long rides stop often, or at least learn how to move around on your seat to stop pain from building. Mid + forward + highway pegs can give you different riding positions too
Also, talk to your Doc about things you can do - especially if you can build your core strength, without doing damage to any of your ailments. Putting some stress on muscles instead of your spine can do wonders.

Where do I get the Mustang seat?  When I buy a new harley from harley davidson AU, can I ask they put on a Mustang seat?  Price extra?

And is it common to lean the bike too far sometimes and drop it?  Because that would be too hard on my neck, back and hernia to hold it up.

Do you think the seventy-two Sporster with its higher handle bars would be good Bonkerz?

What exactly caused your hernia to get bad when riding red? Why did the hernias affect your legs?  And if I drop the bike I won't be picking it up, I will wave down someone to help me <img src=" border="0" />

I keep hearing good things re the comfort of mustang seats. For longer trips I need a more comfortable seat for my 07 fatty which I only ever run a solo seat on. Which of the mustang seats is recommended?

Mate don't want to bore you with a list of injuries and fucked body parts , but with a crook back, ( lower disc fucked ), a big hernia that was fixed with mesh , but looks like its coming back , pins in the shoulder , to restrict the movement and stop it popping out , left foot that was severed and sewn back on..... and the list is endless ,, in fact only the other day my missis measured all my scars and then informed me i had over 4 foot of scars ha ha
Anyway I've been through a few bikes ,looking for the most comfortable , my reccomendation is the street bob ,, its light , its comfortable even stock ,, the mid mounts help with your posture , and the mini apes have the bars in a perfect position so that your not leaning over too much , only problem over 100 on long journeys it becomes a bit of a wind catcher but a small removable windscreen can fix that.

Mustang.com or search mustang seats , I have a pic of mine in my pics , it's the top of the range leather seat they call it a Super Touring Seat with riders backrest , I swear by it 100% , it was expensive but definitely worth it , their website has many different styles for many different makes and models , perfect fit for my roadie and I also have a lambswool gel pad which i use on long trips , it is also made in the USA , by American Motorcycle Specialties , both great quality products !

I'm tossing up between the mustang sport tourer and the wide tourer. Has anyone tried both and able to compare comfort and look. Ill then look at changing my bars and or risers once happy with a comfy seat for trips
