Hey Fellas, just a quick question on stage II and wether or not its a measorable change for 2K  ? I have stage one SE tuner and SE breather V&H exhast and I did notice the difference from stock on that but it was a lot cheaper.

    Cheers

Cheers Hilly, mate the dealer recommended it ( yea don't laugh) I have stage one but I am looking to get a bit more go when I have the missus on the back. But was wondering is it worth 2k

Mate its Gas Alley in Brisbane I think they have a good rep. They seem like a good bunch as well, to be honest I had stage one done at Wacker and the guys at GA fixed it up for free.

Each to their own but I reckon $2k is a lot of money for the gain you're likely to get out of cams and a tune. If its just a canned tune i wouldnt consider it and even with a custom tune i still dont know if the gain would be worth the outlay. If I was going to spend $2k, I'd hold off and save more towards the stage 4 goodies, or perhaps the cams and an s&s 106 kit.

I also agree with hilly in that if you or a friend can install the cams for free it'd be worthwhile.

Cheers fellas, maybe wait I think.

Max, I am still under warranty so I am not sure about stepping outside the dealer at the moment but it sounds like a good option.

I doubt they will honor warranty if you do anything to it but it would be worth asking.

Just MHO but for a clutch spring, set of cams, pushrods and tuner it seems a lot of $$$. You will notice a difference beyond what the pipes and AC made no doubt. If it was mine I would be looking for a new set of lifters as well depending on how many Km's was on it and an oil pump spring while it was apart but thats more $$ again.

Would it be cheaper for you to buy the stage 4 kit now and just get the cams done and keep the rest till $$ are available?? although the stage 4 cams might not work so well with the stock compression. I thought stage 4 fitted was about $4500

My bike is stage 2 and I did stage 1 then waited a bit and did stage 2. It's not a fire breather by any stretch of the imagination but it's definitely got more get and up go than it had before the cam and the tune... overtaking is lots better, my cams are 254E if that matters.

well i tossed up those equations myself how much do i wana spend ,but i knew in the bak of my mind that would cost more to go up in stages 1 -4  so i sat down at home an tossed all this up in my head, u wana do this then just go to iv and save haveing to do all stages 1 - 4 jus go 4 ok ,an ya go i cant afford it but if ya keep spendin money 2 get to iv the costs will be dearer than going strate to iv in da first place .cost me 4750 ride in ride out ,after 1000ks new oil they paid 4 that then had to be dynoed i was reluctant as cost 500 to do but was told it is a must so i did as requested ,was it worth 5200 to achieve this awsome power well yes you cant believe you r rideing same bike coz it aint now you have something that will give a feeling that u go wow that was worth it a small price really 2 gain so much SHINGLES

Ok well I got impatient as usual and went with stage II, ended up costing we half what it should have after selling a few bits and the dealer rebate on the wheels so that was great. Dyno below ( looks good to me) the dealer said it went well, the bike goes great and has a nice idle.

Yea happy as a pig in sh&t Hilly, been out on it most of the day, I went with the 255 due to how I ride. I don't tend to get over 4500-5000 rpm so the torque is in the right spot for me.

Jethro what did it set you back for that stage II Kit

Looking at the dyno sheet I was thinking the 255's for sure, nice improvement well done
