Just wanted to give you a quick rundown on my Sundowner Seat I purchased for my 2010 Widey.

I rode up to Brisvegas for Anzac Day with the mighty 6 RAR, I had my Super Reduced Reach Solo Seat on on the way up, I can only make it about 100 clicks with that seat before my ass starts hurting, it does what it says by putting you closer etc just not for touring.

I thought Id look into a Sundowner Seat 2 up while I was up in Brisvegas and low and behold they had one in stock, so I brought it of course.

I rode around town with it for a couple of days and it felt awesome, this is still with a sore ass from the ride up. I packed the bike early the day I left to try and do the 950k's in one day, I rode and rode and rode felt like a million bucks,  I made it home by 1600.

It does make you sit a little higher and further forward, I cannot reccommend this seat enough if your looking to go on tour and do a few k's in a day.

    Awesome seat.

I have a sundowner deep bucket seat I purchased for my 04 fatboy . The seat does bring you about an 1'' forward  I am long in the legs and arms and have changed my bars . used the seat two or three time no complaints very comfy great backsupport like sitting in a armchair . I dont  put it on as I dont do long trips and cant stretch my legs out . Brought seat new from Geelong Harley would swap for a as new oringinal Fatboy seat

Just thought I`d add my 2cents to this oldish thread. I bought a Sundowner coz my missus hated the original Wide Glide seat even though I didn`t mind the riders seat. I really didn`t think it would make as much diff as it did but bloody hell I was impressed, local dealer had trial seats so I got to try before buying. I didn`t even ride a k and I though this is friggin awesome. I`m a short ass and this made my bike so much better for me to ride (comfort and reach) I was grinnin` from ear to ear and the missus is stoked. So for all the shorty`s out there you could do a lot worse than give one of these a try. Hope this helps someone.

Any New seat, they say allow around 1000km to settle them in to suite you. Depending on your weight.

I rode from Rockhampton QLD to Colac in VIC via the coast almost 3000Km's each way a couple of weeks ago on standard FLSTC seat, by the time I got home I really didn't want to sit on the bike again for almost a whole week end, but I am 197cm tall and weigh 127Kgs, I am haing trouble finding a seat I can get comfortable with, I don't need to get any lower, but I can't afford to move any further forward either, so for now I just have to grin and bear it.

My bike came with a Sundowner seat when I bought it and I must say I personally don't like it.  It's not the best looking seat but more importantly it is a real pain in the ass for me.  If I ride short distances it's reasonably comfortable  but after about 50k I'm getting uncomfortable and after 100k  I got a sore ass and after about 150k I have trouble walking and the ass is sore as hell.  Not going to change the seat as I will be selling the bike soon.

My Corbin saddle cost me $1600 6 years ago and still looks great. Its made from heavy leather with rock hard foam thats feels like a park bench to sit on. Its heated with two settings that can toast your arse on the coldest climate downunder. The seat moved me back two inches and down by 1 1/2 so it saved me money by not needing to replace the bars and floor boards. The longest ride over two days was 2.500 K with zero problems.

Does anyone know how the Sundowner compares to a Mustang seat. I going to change my Low Rider seat, but really don't want to be any closer to the tank.

I was looking for a sundowner some time back, when the opportunity to pick up this mustang seat popped up.

I can only speak great things about this seat, very comfortable and quality made (will never use std seat again).

have alook at the mustang website and check out the factory tour and you'll see the effort they put into each seat

Thanks, it's not an easy decision and hard to workout how it will feel or change the riding position.
