Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, unless you want to scrape around the bends.

Nice bike mz and welcome to the forums. Lowering the ass of an fxst (as you probably know) is a piece of cake. Trade off unless you change shocks
(like Progressives) is a harsh ride and less cornering clearance.

So the answer is a question. How do you ride? Daily, twisties, country, city, cruise etc.

Can buy a lowering kit on the cheap on eBay. First sit on the bike and check your clearance between rear tyre and fender as its closer than you would think. Plus u will lose clearance when cornering. I wouldn't do it. Nearly did until I realised my weight on the bike made it lower anyway

as others have said buy proggessive shocks than you can lower, raise.or stiffen to suit your bike and riding style no point having a 4wd if its not needed

I had those v&h big radius pipes on my fatboy and with just me on board around 95kg, the lower pipe scraped easy so hence didnt want it any lower than standard

I didn't like the look of the standard clearance between the guard and rear wheel on my softy neither, but i'm 104kg, so it lowers itself when I jump on.

Lower the shit out of it!  Looks much better.

Here is my Fatboy lowered to the hilt!  Rides fine, and 2 up is fine too.  It's lowered with the easy bolt on lowering kit you can buy.

This is two up on a recent charity ride.  No dramas at all!
