Hi -  I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to buy a 06 Softail, it's been in the Qld floods and is water damaged? It's also a statutory write off and I'm thinking of bringing it to WA. Any thoughts??.

There you have it. Unless you can ride it on private property or hang it up for a trophy or use it for spare parts if it is good enough, i think i would take Chopas advice. Does seem a bit dear too!

Cheers guys, I want a project bike, but it seems that it might be cheaper to buy new if I went with this particular bike.

It'll only be good for spare parts and given its been flood damaged some of those parts mightn't be worth anything

there is a few stat write offs "water damage" around at the moment.
you would be better off chasing a "repairable write off" crash damaged
