2008 CVO springer, single spot calliper on the front which is next to useless. Almost don't want to ride the thing fearing it wont pull up.

Any ideas on a descent 4 spot that's an easy bolt on?

It's got a 4 spot on the back surprisingly

My 2008 CVO Springer has the same one piston sliding caliper and it's better than I thought it would be !

There are a number of US brake specialist companies who do a 4 piston bolt on caliper kit

I just did a net search before I got my Springer and found a few , Hawg halters and others

The rear caliper is the same Brembo clone caliper as all other 2008 Softails

The yank CVO forum has plenty of threads on the subject.

been searching and looks like Performance Machine do some but there's debate if it's straight bolt on.
Rollies is a dealer so might drop in and have a chat

Yes , I know what you mean mate about " debate ",

Some of the instructions I found went on about " shimming" for clearance etc etc

Left me thinking " I'll give it a try stock..."

4+ months later it seems OK enough so I have not bothered to change

Why does Harley insist on putting single disk on the front of most Harleys the braking is very poor for a bike of that weight. Harley brakes are very wooden with no fell at all when applying the brakes.

HD Tourers have a good setup with the twin Brembos up front, it would be good to have those on all of the models.

they do it that way so we can spend more $$$$$$$$
mate I got a 2012 fatbob and it stops real good and has good feel to the leaver
the springer on the other hand IMHO should not be on the road

+1 I went from a Heritage to a fatty which seemed to brake a bit better. Then on to a muscle which the brakes were very good to an ultra which again are very good.
Its all about the coin............ and compromise .....$$$$$$$

tried the pads, lines are good. Now you mention it I got a set of new ZZR11 brakes in the shed. Dont want to make it look like an add on so looking for direct bolt up replacement.
It's a CVO so needs to look like it was meant to be there so the mounting is probably the critical bit.

The 2009 CVO Springer has of course a front 4 piston caliper from stock

Don't know how easy one would be to " match-up " to the 2008 system

Caliper would be no problem to source , new ones in chrome available from Harley as you'll know !

Admittedly ( matter of personal opinion here !) the stock CVO 2009 setup does not "look" as good as the 2008

2009 is a different axle size so the mount needs to be sleeved to fit on the 2008 axle.
should be able to sort something out just a matter of thinking it through. I thought that maybe since they were such crap stoppers there might be a kit for a bolt on set up.
PM looks ok but just need to go see one.

thanks for all the info guys

This is the kinda thing you're talking about !

I knew I had this photo , sent to me by a guy on the US forums

I think the brand is Hawg Halters ( from memory !) part number FKHSCC100 it was $375 USD

This is from 6+ months ago so apologies for any innacuracy due to my " early onset Alzheimers " haha...

    cheers guys.
retro that looks like it uses the original mount holes. I thought it would mount at each end.

    Gives me something to consider
