    Hi all,

just got my first Harley, I have been riding bikes for more years than I care to remember but until now never had a Harley. She is a 2008 Heritage softail classic with just over 20000ks. I don't have a real lot planned yet for her, probably some bling and later on I was thinking about a Thundermax. I have been told by a shop that with a high flow I would get quite a substantial power increase over stock, is this the case or is it just sales talk,

    cheers Steve.

    Welcome to the forum.

HD's are generally easily modifiable for extra torque and power, it's more a matter of how many $ you have to spend.

    Hi Geoff,
I don't want to much but a little extra down low would be good. My last bike (2 years ago) was a GSX1400 with pc111 and dyno with full Akra exhaust. I new the Harley would feel slower but I thought it would have a bit more. The shop told me I would get about another 15 to 20 hp with the thunder max and high flow. I would be happy with that as I don't want a monster and the main reason for coming to Harley was for cruiser.

Generally an air filter, some freer breathing mufflers and a tuner will make the bikes much more pleasant to ride.

yeah that's sort of what I thought from all the research I have done. It already has screamin eagle slip ons and on decal it does pop and crackle a bit. Are the Thundermax systems overkill for what will be basically a stock bike. Would a PCV do just as good a job with a down loaded map or are the thundermaxes worth the extra cost. After the free flow I don't have any more performance plans only bling,
    cheers Steve.
