hi, ran @ the nitro champ's on the weekend in modified bike class, qualified 20 out of 25 bike's in the field on a 120R dyna w/glide on stock tyres qualified @ 10.32 sec's 1/4 mile @ 132.6 mph , had too race the # 2 top qualifier in the 1st race, a hayabusa set-up for race mode & we got thru too the 2 round & had to race against the # 1 qualifier from Qld this gxrr suzuki does 8.6 sec e.t., well i left a bit of a safety gap + i blinked just before or on the geen light 0.174 sec reaction, the wind had come up all of a sudden as well that slowed me down a 10th anyway i loss out by exact 0.090 sec, i under guess the fellow in the other lane he held me up on the starting line a bit , you are only allowed 15 sec's or your out he held me for about 12sec , on the start ,
next time out will be in the 2013 N.S.W. champ round 3 on the 25th may in 3 weeks time i will be doing all 9 round's this year in the streetbike class that is open to any bike not faster than 10.00 sec's & no wheelie bars apart from that there are no rules, we are sharing overall 2 spot atm ,
any help is gratefull , thank's Geoff3dmd for your help for entry fee's
i tried my best @ the race track but was in the racing modified class against some of the best from interstate + local racers as well on a street harley as we do not even have a tacho on our bike + on stock street dunlops tyres, the other race bikes have 2 stage rev limiters , air shift gears , tacho with shift light, , slicks with wheelie bars etc, but thanks for your support, we will keep the harley flag flying @ the race track all this year
also i stuff up on entry free funds as my wife was not here to help me out with the paper work + i'am not real good on the computer as i have never had a mobile phone or a credit card never been too & atm machine even , i got it mix-up COLSTAH was the nice fellow that help with the entry fee for $50 sorry for the mix up ,
in Nitro Top Bike class, Mick Matterson came off his bike on sunday afternoon after passing the finnish line in 6.020 sec's @ 231 mph + & crash off his bike the bikle seemed to throttle on after the finnish line for 100 mtrs before slowing down but the bike went into the sand trap that hard that it broke the safty net in half & endoed right too the top of the hill then rolled half way back down, the rider was eye's open & talking with the ambo's & was taken hospitial, best wishes for him we were pitted right next door to him in the pits all weekend he is a very nice & helpfull man , all the best
Had a great time at the Drags on Saturday, always attend the Top Fuel events.
A bit disappointed with so many of the machines breaking down and not doing the full race distance, also lots of oil spills.
This meeting was the first time we have seen so many oil spil cleanups in the one meeting, its a shame this happens as Im sure the teams work very hard to get results. As we know they are still only machines and they break down, even more so under extreme conditions with every race.
Rotary engined cars had a great run and they are always awesome to see race up the track, so much power for such a small engine, awesome. I think they were better than the Top Fuel machines at this meeting.
racing soon in the N.S.W. Drag Racing Championships on the 25 May in 2 weeks time on the Dyna W/glide 120R in the Street Bike Class @tm equal 2nd overall possie in the Championship points table
