The better half and i were riding up to Mindarie on Saturday afternoon in the passing lane travelling at the speed limit of 100 km/hr. Unmarked police car pulls up beside her and winds down his window. i thought they were going to knock her off her bike. Then they pull up behind me and tail me for a km. They then pull me over in to the middle lane. Wife stops a 1/2 km up the road. Cops jump out and tell me they have pulled me over for travelling at 95 km/hr and wanted to know why I was travelling so slow. I explained that I was tailing the wife to keep the arseholes from tailgating her. They let me off with a warning. 1st time I have ever been pulled over for travelling under the speed limit. Methinks they were trying to do an unorthodox noise compliance check, as the first thing I did was turn off the bike and walk back to their car to say hello. A couple of young blokes out for a bit of harmless fun terrorising a local middle-aged biker and wife out enjoying a lovely saturday afternoon. I wished them a great day. That fucked them.
Hope that they were wearing all their safety gear(hi vis vest)after pulling you up there? Hate to think that they were doing something illegal.
A few things to be aware of when travelling Perth freeways;
1 The min speed on freeways is 80kph.
2 The max speed id 100 kph.
3 Keep left if not over taking if at all possible ( non peak hour time I have been cautioned with this).
Coppers obviously had no crooks to catch Cussybro.
PigironBob is correct, if your vehicle is not capable of doing no less than 20 km/h below posted speed limit on the freeway you are prohibited from driving/riding on it, hence some scooters are prohibited from entering the freeway.
Riding with the speed of 95 km/h is perfectly legal as it is only 5 km/k less than posted limit so those coppers could not issue you with a ticket, they had no right to even give you a caution as you did not commit any offence, but I can't imagine you complaining about it.
