    Hi,

I'm in the last stages of putting 2006 Fatboy wheels on my 2010 Iron and all has been really easy up until now.  Wide glide went on well, bearings were sorted, new tyres look great but I cannot work out how to space the front and rear wheel for the life of me!!!!

In short, I am fucking stuck!! The things I am struggling with are how to correctly align the rear pulley and front sprocket ; had planned on using a long metal rule to align them horizontally, but the wheel doesnt look like she is sitting in the centre.  I've measured up and I am about 45mm on the left side and 32mm right (when looking at it from behind).  With regard to the front wheel, all is good but not sure whether I should space out the caliper and leave the wheel dead centre or do use a hub spacer and space out the disc so she lines up?

Any assistance, guidance, support................................................fuck I'll put a case of beer up for anyone who actually wants to give me hand measure it up properly...........

The other thing I was wondering is whether I need to spin the rear wheel around and run it on the opposite side.  The pulley on a fatty is on the left and brake on the right but on the sporty's its pulley on right and brake disc on left.......................again not sure but looking for something!

    Cheers

    Waz

P.S - I think she looks pretty fucking cool with the Fatboy wheels and old school Shinko tyres!

Can you measure off the original wheel? ie:

From centre of the wheel to the centre of disc, and then to outside of spacer

From centre of the wheel to centre of pulley and then to outside of the spacer, keep in mind the pulley has to clear the tyre or it will rub on the belt, check existing tolerances.

Draw it up on a piece of paper (helps to make it a bit clearer)

If the new rear wheel is wider you will have to allow for the tyre to clear the pulley and may have to have the rear offset?

Mate, sold the sporty last week dirt cheap to my 50 year old uncle that has wanted one. By that stage it was in peices all powder coated blak, shitloads of extras etc. I bought the Dyna instead of outting sporty bck together, got way over my head! Dyna is lots of fun, will end up with another sporty by end of year, but I know what Im doing now, and I know ehn o leave it alone!

You may have to have some machined off one side or the other. A guy i know put a rear on the front of his bike and had to do this because of rotor going on opposite side of wheel.
