Hey Bob what one was harder to pull up the quicker FXD with 124 motor that ran 9's but @ 138mph or this EFI wide Glide that ran 10's @ 145mph
also think iy would be great to take to the salt down SA IF YOU CAN DO 200mph IT WILL BE THE WORLDS FASTEST 120R. you love Speed m8 thats where to go!!! I meet a guy back in year 2000 he came out with Dennis Manning to do the Land Speed attempt. he had been an official @ Bonnyville 27 years & said he really liked Lake Gairner. he was here for the world Nitro Harley series we had that year.. if you think you can do 200MPH on that bike we need some glue!!! or a parrachute for you LOL
and what bike was harder to stop? as i noticed if i went faster in traps it got a lot harder to stop before the end. that guy that came out from Holland & had raced a Supercharged Nitro bike for over ten years would not attempt a full throtle pass @ WSID full quarter as said the braking area too short he had never raced at a track with that short brakeing, he shut off @ 1,000ft mark
i'm just thinking it would be hard stopping a heavy bike like the wide glide from that speed?as soon after the speeds trap you would hit 150MPH & normally the bike does 125mPH to 132MPH so 145MPH big gain & i'm thinking big difference in stopping it.
on both bike's i hold her flat out over & pass the finnish line by a little too much because my right elbow is heavier than my left & it take's time to bring it back , realy i hold it down to make sure i get a good trap speed read-out then i have to bring her back to 1/2 throttle & let the bike settle before i shut her off because there are some bumps @ after the finnish line from a drain that runs underneath the track about 200 ft pass the finnish line ,i think the 124 Dyna was harder to pull up as i was using all of the lenth of the track & being a rigid mounted motor it's a more a server ride i had too glue upsidedown 40grit sandpaper to the throttlegrip because it was slipping under my right glove i've never had that before , the stock 120R Dyna is more normal to ride & doe's not feel as fast @ 145 + mph but i still use all or most of the track both are a great feeling , i don't like it when in the race i have too back the throttle off before the finnish line because i caught the other rider too quick backing off the throttle on the way too 145 + mph sharply is not good for the engine + it upsets the bike & my smoothness if you could call it that, i would like to race on the salt i think this bike could exceed & maybe step into the 200 mph club as @ 145 mph i still have another gear to go i could alway use a big peice of velcrow on the seat & stich velcrow too my butt on the leathers ,
