Hey Steve,
Sounds like a plan mate, I also have a brother in law who's just bought a 2011 forty eight, he's also keen to come on some rides so I'll let him know there's another forty eight enthusiast in Brissy
I tried to install my V&H FuelPak today, failed pretty hard, where the heck is the ECU, struggled to reach the negative on the right hand side of the bike, think i need an attachment to get to it for my spanner, and even if I successfully remove the battery is the ECU on the 2011 model hidden behind a new plastic housing? The setup looked different from the youtube video I watched on the install. If I can't suss it out I might have to take it in to the shop for fitting, was honestly hoping to learn a bit by doing it myself. How far is it safe to ride with the V&H shortshot exhaust and stage 1 upgraded air intake kit without a re tune? Assuming it is definitely running lean, can I make it 45 min down the freeway you think without overheating issues? I bought the stage 1 air intake with and managed that install as expected. As for the name for the 48'ers, hmmm any harley is badass, love the build, style, community that comes with the brand, the sound of their vtwin engine, and just cruising around. Harley Enthusiasts.....just like the next harley owner, will do me just fine for now " border="0" />
welcome, i watched the video, you must have an understanding wife to stand on the balcony and wait for an hour with a video for you to come back?
Yeah after my ride I did a few laps of the block so she heard me coming, I was surprised when I headed up the drive way and she was there waiting. She scored some brownie points that day I'm keen to buy a GoPro Hero 3 so I can capture some of the cruises we go on, got family back in WA so I'm sure they'd love to check out the video's as well, beat's still photo's if I can take them on the ride (in a sense).
My god-father owns a motorcycle drag team in WA, "Two A-Breast Racing", makes a few trips a year over to Sydney and Gold Coast. Guess the whole bike loving thing was sitting dormant in my blood till just over a year ago when a brother in law took me out for some offroad biking in the mountains.
Haven't looked back since.
