I am wanting to fit a dual seat to my 48 sportster.

I previously had a HD sundowner touring seat on the bike for a little while but i was not a fan of it.

what brand of dual seats are other people running on there sportys ?

I'm leaning towards a Lepera Maverick or something from mustang but what is holding me back is it's a shit load of money to outlay for a seat that you cant try first.

I havent to this point been able to find a sportster with a upgraded seat on it so i can try it out for feel.

So if i could get some opninions and photos from other members for what type of dual seats they are running on there sportys.

For an old school look I dont think you can go past the Mustang Regal with the buttons; would look cool as fuck on a 48!

I have a mustang two-piece vintage wide seat for my superlow. No conchos/buttons or tassles, just the braiding on the skirt of the seat which actually suits the bike.

I can tell you now it's a vast improvement on the stock seat as well as the sundowner. I tried a mates bike who had the sundowner and it's not as comfy as the mustang.

I bought the two piece so i can remove the pillion seat when riding solo.

The seat actually gives form to your backside and gives good support across your tailbone and the top of your butt. The seat is firm, but this stops your ass from going numb.

I can now feel the suspension actually working instead of a dull washy feeling. It actually makes me feel more comfortable and has removed the saggy ass end.

I feel less vibration through my body as well.

I'll post some photos up this afternoon. If you lived nearby you'd be welcome to take the bike for a ride to try the seat. I'm located in wagga wagga.

I figured i'd take a gamble on a seat and then onsell it if i didnt like it. But i'm 100% happy with it.

Bought the two seats from M&M in the states. Took 2 1/2 weeks from ordering the seats along with a few other things to on my doorstep. Mark had to wait for a few things to get to him, but once it was shipped took only 6 working days to get here.

I currently have the Hd side kick seat for my 48 but don't recommend it as it sort of sits up at the tank and my wife hates it as its uncomfortable , you could go with a Danny Gray seat which is the same but with a gel insert to make it more comfortable and fits better but I have been considering the lapera Cherokee seat , looks like it suits the bike a bit better and also the pillion passenger $ 348 plus $ 100 for deliver to aus

Took a while for me to get the pics up sorry, but here's what a 14 inch wide Mustang solo seat looks like on a 2011 superlow. I have the pillion seat also and it's a brilliant fit.

Excellent fitment to the tank as can be seen in a pic.

Excuse the filthy bike, there's roadworks on the way to work at the moment.

thanks for the pic fizzicist, but i think that seat is a little wide for my taste, IMO i don't think it would suit a forty-eight, the maverick is only one inch narrower than the mustang seat which is two-tenths of bugger all but somehow in the photo it looks narrower

I've decided i'm going to get this along with a black HD quick release medium height sissy bar for the wife.

I have the mustang solo with the clip on pussy pad ,its a big ass seat but I reckon it suits the 48 fat front tyre ,very comfy too, gets you up a bit higher which does marginally affect body position and cornering etc
after a few 1000 ks the seat starts to set to your bum and gets more comfy ,soaks up bumps good too .

i know you sorted your seat out but i wanted to chime in on this topic. I just got the standard 1200 custom seat on my 48 and its great. I was looking at the badlander and sundowner but neither of them had both comfort and looks. the 1200 custom seat is not in the P&A catalogue so its easy to miss.

I got mine for just on $200 from harley heaven. Good price and great seat, about 50 times more comfortable than my sprung seat.
