Hey team,

First of all cool site and I thought I would throw a few newbie questions at you as I couldnt find answers to them and I am new to the Harley world. Recently got a street bob and put a 113ci kit in it with new bars, pipes and all the fruit etc. I am so far having a ball riding it around. My question relates to biker edicate... I have noticed a couple of Harley riders give a head nod and a lot dont, on sports bikes I found most did. Whats the norm?

Also, I guess my main question... If I am riding my Harley do I need to be concerned when seeing Harley riders from an outlaw club? Of course for me its a recreaction weekend thing however I dont want to piss anyone off and of course with sportsbikes I would always have a chat to most people but its all new in the land of HD. What is the normal thing here?

Lastly the rides listed on here mostly seem to be rare and be big rides, do people often get together for a Saturday morning blast or are your weekend riders (if your stuck at work most of the week like me) to get out on your own? I am keen to do heaps of riding and of course its always more fun to meet some new characters along the way.

And now a question for you, since you are new and your memory fresh unlike most of us stale old bastards, why do you and a lot more others choose such long and odd handles, why not SB34, quick and easy, even kiwidave could have been KD? just a thought.

I have never been a 1%er but have been to many many bike shows, strip nights, mens nights, poker runs etc etc run by clubs and never had any issues.
I say g'day to anyone and some will come and talk others will not, dont sweat it.

The Nod thing is strange, as they say some will and some will not. As a rule I do but not each and everytime just when I think of it.

I try and respect whoever I am riding with and go along with the general gist of how things are run, trust me you will pick it up.

I have been riding for over 40 years and in all that time had one run in with a club and that was 30 years ago when I was young and their was no internet for me to ask questions about acceptable social behavior (ie: dont get drunk and be a dick).

Enjoy your bike, mate to be honest I am more paranoid about the boys in blue these days as they seem to have a vendetta on about Harley riders.

Yeah I was actually thinking about the SOA stuff. I have no doubt people LOVE that shit! I remember when riding dirt bikes a lot I used to laugh when people thought it was cool to wear a Fox MX jersey everywhere like the shops or pub!!Most of the time they didnt even own a bike!!
As for the handle bahl I reckon its easier to remember than SB34 don't you? I do actually have the same handle on a couple of forums so I just keep them the same for me to remember. I have a Blown ute and have a chat to a few lads on anothercouple of sites and my 34 relates to when I was racing bikes as it was my number and I guess it stuck.
