The normal upgrade of barrels and slugs will bring you up to 95ci. To get 96 the crank has a different throw, making it a slightly longer stroke. You will have to completely drop the motor and split the cases to do this. If you need a total rebuild go for it. You can get bigger slugs as well to increase the capacity above 95, just depends what you want. If its for touring, try a six speed box instead. The 88 will pull ok in 6th. Just be careful you dont over capitalise on the bike, you'll never get your cash back.

    Borisat,
That 107 kit looks pretty good,
Sorry for my ignorance but do you have here atm as you are going to fit one or do you import em.
If so whats the cost approx on 107 kit Black/Highlight.
What else needs to be done?? Throttle bodies, heads, cams etc.
    Regards
    Nigel

    P.S.    Mine is a EFI (2006) 1450 6 speed

The 88 engine can go to 114 with the stock 4 inch stroke and a set of 4 1/4 slugs and barrels. The cases would need boring to suit the larger barrels and most engines this size have problems with base cylinder oil leaks and are hard on rear tyres.

so the general opinion is go up to a 98ci, i dont want to pull the motor out and split the cases, i didnt want to change the crank shaft. do i have to do this for the 98? the motor is in good condition it has about 25k on the clock so a full rebuild isnt really required yet, i am only looking at this for more punch! does anyone know a rough cost if i got this done by a bike mechanic? (just for curiosity...) thanks for all the adice also.
