     Hi all

Before someone asks , yes I have done extensive searching for this subject on this forum as well as other Harley forums both U.S. and aus with not much luck.

I am looking for any and all info regarding pricing and where to buy the Andrews roller cam conversion kits for my 2000 Fatboy

The US sites recommend M and M cycles but I can't find any info about the kits on their website .

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can purchase directly from Andrews ? Where do you get them from here? btw I don't mind buying from a known us shop if that's where I have to go, would prefer to support locals though

I am looking to upgrade the cams at the same time and any advice on grind would be helpful

( stock valve train compression heads mikuini 42 carb hooker trouble makers pipes,)

Im after more low / mid grunt with a lumpy note , I looked at the Andrews website  and am a little confused by the duration lift jargon etc.

Somewhere from te 21N to the 37N. The 37N reads like its the biz but I don't want to do all this and end up with a pretty pig

    Cheers in advance

M&M will have what you need at a good price compaired to any downunder dealer. We need to know what bike you have and how you ride it 90% of the time your on it ? is it a daily rider, pub hopper or weekend cruiser two up.

Andrews no longer supply this kit as HD stopped supplying them the parts.

I ended up buying the parts from HD here. The good news is the price (without the need to pay postage) wasn't that much more than if I had of been able to get the kit off Mark at M&M who originally quoted $500 for the kit (minus cams) plus post. By the time I had got around to ordering Mark said that he could no longer get the kits.

I am pretty sure fuelmoto will be able to help you out with the HD conversion kit, BUT they will only supply with a Woods "R" series cam. Cartoon Head may be able to back me up on this. The Woods 6-6R is the equivalent to the 37N but needs a little bit more compression for optimum performance like 10.2:1.

Both these cams are very good for a 95".
    Hope this helps

    morning  Hog bog

The bike is a 2000 Fatboy and predominantly a weekend cafe / pub hopper ( read into that for riding style ) I used to take my wife on it but since i dide the rear conversion she refuses to get on it as its now got a lick n stick pussy pad - no sissy bar = no more wife on back

    Thanks

     Cheers CH

I take it from your post that you have done this conversion before?( on your bike)

How much did it cost all up from HD?

Would you possibly have a parts # list available ?

    Thanks again

     Thanks mate

To be honest, it doesn't worry me what brand of cam is used that much and woods is well known .

I was referring to Andrews mostly due to to the fact that they advertised ( and still do) a complete conversion kit. On the net.

My bike has 85 000 k 's and as I'm the second owner I can only assume its  got stock compression ( I don't have a compression gauge to test)

The main reason for engaging in this whole thing is to get rid of the crappy plastic chain guides, the changing off cams is a secondary option as the whole lt has to come out anyway

If I had your bike the crank would be checked for run out for a set of gear drive cams. I would also be buying set of 95 or 98 slugs and if there was any money left I would buy a set of 07 heads or have the stockers ported.

Yea I initially had the gear drive conversion in mind but I'm not prepared to cough up a fair chunk of folding for a reasonable quality runout gauge, to use it once. I wouldn't trust a cheap shit one to give me peace of mind when we are dealing with thousands of an inch.

Also , I've done a fair bit of reading on the gear driven cams and from what I've read they require a very fine tolerance between the gears etc.

If this tolerance isnt adhered to (.unintentionally or not) then they are prone to excessive wear, whining etc.

Further to that , my belt drive whines more than a fat kid that's been locked out of the lolly shop

I am only after the best bolt in type cam because at this stage, 1 I don't have te funds (always a pain) 2 I don't want to break into the donk just yet ( too that extent)

    Cheers

Am I right in saying that you have a stock 88".
I understand you don't want to part with alot of coin, so I am thinking go for a Andrews 26N & conversion if you want piece of mind.
If you plan on going 95" at a later date then go for a 37N straight up. It will still work but the 37N works better in a 95".
I know Cartoon Head got all of his from Sam @ Harley Heaven ( I think a sponsor on here not sure?) & he was saying it wasn't that much extra than from out of US. PM him for what he paid as I can't remember.

PS- I done the conversion to mine a few years back & glad I did, as I have heard a few stories now of the early style chain tensioners failing & sending engines to the shithouse that is only over here in the West.

If money is tight just replace the tensioners and look for a set of SE 203, 204, Andrews 21, 26 or a woods 6 with a +4 sprocket.

    Matt, just had another thought.

If you haven't brought anything yet then you could always have a look at the Screaming Eagle kit 25284-11, the only thing is from what I understand is you could not use Andrews N37 with this kit. If you do go with this double check with a dealer that this is the correct part number for your bike.

As FLSTFI says you could contact Fuelmoto but you will need to buy the whole kit including Woods cams, great products but not cheap.
