    G'day All

As fate would have it the wife has to be in Melbourne for a few days with her work in Mid April  ... she's already planned on staying on and taking the Friday off and I'm flying over from Perth  to meet her Thursday Night  to see my parents on Friday and then fly back Sunday arvo  ....

Didnt think I'd be able to make it to this ... www.h-d110.com.au/

but turns out it is on the weekend we are there !!

Problem is I  don't have a couple of bikes conveniently parked in a garage in Melbourne so will need to take public transport.....  or hire a car  to get there and back,

I know the missus would be happy to see Jimmy do his thing on Saturday night -(one of our early dates was the Chisel Last Stand Tour in 1982-83)  just not sure about transport and/or accommodation near Williamstown etc

Any local knowledge, suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Coxy

about the only accom in the area that's worthwhile are 'Bed and Breakfasts'. Just Google for the area. Hope to see you there . . . . . . among thousands of others!!!!

Considering it since it's only a 15 minutes ride down the road. The whole place will prolly be swarming g with over  enthusiastic pigs though and weekend warriors on road queens so I'm undecided. The area it's being held at can be chaos on an anger age Saturday night though so it might be more trouble than it's worth :-/

Yeah I am serious. I mean chaos in regards to finding parking ect. Plus I'm pretty certain the piggies will be sitting at either end of the road with breath testing and be doing compliance checks on every bike and helmet within a km of the event :-/ it's a shame really.

Yeah well you can only hope, I reakon there will be alot of people down there and it's gonna be bedlam. As for the breath testing, doesn't bother me as I never drink and ride however I can only imagine the police  handing out epa's willy nilly. They DO this often and I can only imagine them trying to make an 'example' at an event like this. Especially since they only have to waddle 5 minutes down a path from there station. But hey, that's just my opinion. I'm sure it'll be an wesome event either way.

as to the parking, we have just arrived home from almost across the road from were the event will be held as we went out to dinner tonight, parking was no issue at all & there was 5 cars for all of us

That's nice but a few cars isn't much comparison to a 1000 plus bikes which I've heard people are tipping

So the answer is simple, put your stock pipes on and have a great night. If the pricks are gunna stop you for loud pipes they are gunna stop you anywhere, beat em at their own game, let them do all their work and get no results. Is this open to the public or just HOG members, if its the latter......see ya there Coxy.

Farrrrr Out what ever happened to the glass is half full, guess your's is half empty

if you are trying to talk yourself out of going find something else to do

its to be held on the old Melbourne Harbour Trust site so I guess there will be parking there for the majority, the MHT in its days was a huge complex & most of it is un used today so I am sure there will be on-site parking

I've got a ticket but I'm doped up on antibiotics because of an infection so I'm not sure I'll be riding down, I thought friday was H.O.G only but I might be wrong.

I bought a three day pass a while back. So went Friday afternoon and spent the evening there. Was pretty good (welcome pack was a bit light on for the $$$) Drinks and food are a bit exxy, but most important . . . . . . . DON'T HAVE THE 'PLUTO PUP'/DAGWOOD DOG/HOTDOG ON A STICK!!!!!! Had one cause it was easy to eat one handed (other hand full of gear) and have spent all today chuckin my guts up (and associated stuff). Couldn't get out of the house to get there today! Apparently others who had them are been too! Was looking forward to Barnsie too.

went sat avo couldnt stay to see jimmy as i had to work, event was ok but if you wernt staying to see jimmy $65 was a bit steep for what it was certanly couldnt justify $110 for a 3 day pass........just saying
