Had a great day down at Broadford race track last Friday. Was a big day tho', got up at 5.00am, rode down to the track, did 20min sessions in rotation with two other groups until about 4.00pm, then rode home. 2 1/2 hrs each way down to Broadford, huge day! think I should have got some accomodation down there, anyhow was good.

Got some more details Derm? Costs, whats covered in the course, who takes it.

Not for me of course I am the best rider around.

But seriously if you didnt learn something to save your life at one of these you might unlearn a bad habit that might one day cost ya.

The course cost about $425 for the day, it was through Rider Bros. The day was hectic, cornering techniques (the knee down course is serious cornering) Emergency braking, changing line while cornering, swerving; slow medium & fast. There may have been some other stuff in there but that wasth guts of it. Also the two instructors (between 14 on the course) rode with us a bit to give us tips. Bikes ranged from my Sportster, a nice Bagger, a Honda cruiser, a coupla really nice late model naked Guzzi & Duke, a BM adventure 1200, a Triumph Daytona, Hondas YamKazuki sports bikes & a young guy on a Honda CB 250 who was intent on catching up with me on every lap in the corners, but it was tough trying to make sure he never quite did.

Yeah I agree Burnzi about unlearning bad habits.

But the course was good in as much that it was really good to get on a race track to carry out what they were telling us in the theory classes.

These guys at Rider Bros are good but I can't help feeling that it was not as good as the Stay Upright Intermediate course I did a coupla years ago down at Geelong. But having said that I think a combination of the two courses & types of learning would be the best, but again that is often the case. The circuit at Broadford was pretty busy, therewas our group, Advanced Roadcraft, a Knee Down group & there was a group of racers just out doing their thing sort of like day. Of course we were not all out there together,  that would have been chaos. We were on the course in 20 minute sessions. But by  the time we got out on the circuit & our instructors set up the course markers i.e. emergency braking, changing direction while cornering there was just not enough time to do enough riding. We may have had 6 sessions on the track in the day.

It was a big day for me, get up in Alb to arrive at Broadford by 7.30am, finish at about 4.30pm & ride back to Alb, phew. Next day I drove to Canberra to join a few mates to do a 24hr mountain bike race. Sunday night back in Alb I was f#@$ed.
