Hi guys hopefully you can help me ... have a mate with a 2003 SuperGlide ... Me a 2008 Softail , on the weekend we swaped bikes for a bit of a comparasion ride ... as you do .

Anyhow wsnt on his ride for more than 5 minutes and noticed a flashing red light on his speedo ... in the middle between the 40and 60 numbers ... it was blinking 3 times then a pause then again 3 times and so on .

He hadnt even noticed it before ... was like that all the way home , never ran bad or different to any other time he has had it and he hasnt seen it come on when riding to work or back which are far shorter rides than our weekend jaunt .

I`m presumming its a check engine light and was possibly thinking it was a heat sensor ... am i anywhere near the right ball park thinking that ... the fact that the oil light never came on if it was a heat problem made me wonder though .

I have a '12 superglide and in my speedo the red light came on the day before I was suppose to go to the motogp last year and it wouldn't go out.
I read the owners manual and it stated that if that light stayed on for more than 4 sec's I would need to take the bike to a authorised dealer so I thought its "fucked" my new bike.
Anyway the next morning I start it up and no light I think great till I touched the front brake and on it came and stayed on.
I traced it to the rear tail-light globe . The thing fell out and no tail light replaced the globe and alls well except no ride to the Motogp cause I believed the manual.

Anyway long story but in my case an easy fix
