Here's how I got my bike license
1981 Turned up to the Singleton NSW cop shop after having my 'L's for a week
Cop walked out to the footpath with me, at the same time telling me what to do.
'Ride 50 meters up the road to that intersection, turn around and come back pass me to that intersection, a further 50 meters back the other way, turn around and come back'
So off I went up the road, turned around and he was gone, back in the station. So I pulled up, went inside the cop shop and he said 'sign here' That was it.
Very easy
I rode my Vespa scooter to the cop shop at the appointed time, the cop asked me "did you ride that here???" I said yes, he said, well, you must be able to ride it then, sign here and get your license, thanks a lot......................and I'm still alive..............I think
Bt
The day they tell me to wear fluro clothing is the day i sell the blingmobile and buy the boat i always wanted......seems i came into this scene at the wrong time.....damn that yaughts lookin good now....
When i did mine (not that long ago) 7 years . This larger fellow had never been on a bike before not even the dirt, was asked to get on a scooter just to get the feel of it at first, then they would get him on the vtr250 . Well we were going around the circut and low and be hold this bloke hit the deck, We were all called over even the bloke that fell , while we were waiting for this bloke to get up and come back to the group he fell again , we all thought that it was over for this bloke, The instructor asked him if he felt ok on the scooter , His reply was no its not balanced, HA we all looked at each other with grins and smiles. Anyway they took him away and got him a bigger bike vtr250, I said to a instructor that i didnt feel safe with him on the course and he said to me NOONE fails dont stress. Well at the end of the course this bloke that hit witches hats , traffic lights and even dropped the 250 got his licence, One of the other instructors said once it went private not many fail. And now they wonder why there are so many killed on our roads.
I reckon its not about track days and how fast you can go,but about common sence and ridind safely.Enjoy the ride and don't push the limits cause thats when you'll come unstuck.
