Has anyone been using mobile 1 vtwin in all the holes.  Is this a good thing or a bit risky. Anyone have any thoughts on using different oils as against the same all through  (Heritage Softail 2008)

    Thanks

I'd suggest against using mobile 1 Vtwin in all holes, should be alright in a motorcycle i guess,

personally i like the glow in the dark lube from coles for holes .

Mobil 1 V-Twin in the Engine oil tank no worries , maybe 3 Quarts required

Mobil 1 V-Twin in the Primary case no worries , 1 Qt required

In the transmission (AKA gearbox !) I'd put a gear oil , Mobil make a synthetic that comes in Qt bottles ( or maybe 1 litre in Australia !)

There are many gear oils , Redline " Shockproof heavy " / Amsoil " Severe gear " and many others.

Engine and Primary but Redline shockproof in the gearbox, once you try this in the gearbox you wont use anything else.

Thanks Mickle I'll continue to use the mobile in engine and maybe continue with harley oil for Primary - REdline shockproof I haven't used yet but would like to feel that it may improve the clunkiness of my box.Does it help much. I did mention to the harley repairers when new about the clunk but was told "they are pretty agricultural' I took this to mean 'live with it'
