run the breathers into a catch tank/can for now, letting that shit get into the intake will foul up plugs and help cause carbon on pistons and valves. It will also lower the octane of your fuel mixture and cause some detention. You also have to look why it is happening....most of the time its cause from excess blow-by from incorrect running in/ too rich mixture washing away your bores/ too large ring gap/ and the number one reason i see is being too soft on your bike in the first few 100k's.

From here what i would do is fit a catch can/external breather, make sure the mixtures are right and not on the rich side and go give the bike a hard time for atleast a few more 100k's.

It would be worth the ride to melboure to have Anthony from Maztech tune it...

What a/c do you have on it?

    get this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Air-cleaner-breather-kit-Big-Twin-93-09-Sportster-91-09-/190807666880?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6d05f0c0&_uhb=1#ht_603wt_1097

and at the very least run a hose off the T down to under your exhaust somewhere and let it breath/drop oil out there.

5ltr I've had an external breather setup on mine since not long after I bought it. I had no mess at all before the conversion, the hose & catch-can did a good job. Since the conversion I've had more mess, the small catch can is just not up to the job. I put it down to the bigger motor, higher compression etc. I think one of the other guys here has had the same issue since his conversion. Anyway I'm gonna be sticking with my horseshoe breather & just get a longer length of 3/8 hose & run it to a bigger catch can bolted to the side of the bike, probably rear of the footpeg somewhere. I'd hate to think all that crap was going back into my combustion chamber, unfortunately too many intakes do this. Also watch your oil level, I've read to keep the level no more than half on the dipstick.

This is what I'm looking at http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/POWDER-COATED-BLACK-BUELL-MOTORCYCLE-HARLEY-CATCH-CAN-W-BREATHER-OIL-COLLECTOR-/271151802237?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f21e8277d

so are you pipes! lol. anyway, instead of having the filter on the catch can you can run a fitting there and a hose back into the air filter base plate so the "fumes" will be taken in to be "burnt" but the oil will be catched in the can. not worth fucking about, let it vent to atmosphere, if you get done they be getting you for your pipe anyway. it wont be hard to hoot it back to stock.

spec junkies man. guys with no life and no mates trying to tell you how to do something they have never done, or only learnt from a book. Theres a difference between doing something and knowing why your doing it.    (im having a moment, sorry)

    +1 let it vent!

A catch can with filter is the way to go. Filter can be swapped out & the catch-can can be emptied.

I don't think you can plumb it back in  other wise the engine won't breath and you will have a serious mess, I did my own breather set up and just ran in into a pod filter

Yeah all good thanks Rich, bike running sweet. Break in done, probably no dyno for a couple of months yet, got heaps on. Bit of blow by like yours but its not constant only here & there. Easy fix though, will order a better catch can soon. Cheers..

Not sure of the bracket, looks simple enough though. I've also seen one mounted on the front frame downtube on a sporty with drag pipes, mounted with hose clamps I think.

would you say the conditions were the same ??? eg - air temp / engine temp??? as it will make a difference. Hotter engine = bigger clearances.......
