Hi guys i tryed the search but it didnt turn anything up on this so ill ask does anyone out there know the deal with removing the ugly ass Date of manufacture, Noise level, and VIN stickers? do they have to stay on for any other reason the keeping the 5-0 off your back?

FFS read the manual. These have special glue and are designed to hold the whole bike together! If anything add more stickers!!!!!

Why would ya wanna do that man , they`re there for a reason and removing them wouldn`t make too much difference or any more prettier at 100km/h ?

I just put 2" wide black tape over the ones on the frame tube . 2 second remove if required ( feds ) , and you ca,nt pick it . My 2c worth .

Just my recollection, which fades with time, but I reckon the plate has to be there for compliance reasons, and that removing it makes the bike non-complying, with the resultant problems that brings, if the law catches you out on it.

There may also be questions raised if you come to sell it, stolen bikes might have the VIN plate missing...

The tape looks like a good idea.

One bloke on a ride thought my bike was stolen !!

I stole Tim's idea for the tape. The VIN is clear for all to see, but it hides all the barcodes etc. and easily removed if needed.

(Hopefully without any damage)

Cut a piece of paper to the size of the sticker and put it over the sticker before you put on the tape...no chance of ripping the stickers when you remove it.

Bonkerz ideas the go , ya wouldn`t want the tape to lift the tag print on removing it or re-application ?
But either way no ones gona see it at speed , and then at rest what is worse , taped up tag or tag , what`s uglier ?
A Non-Issue really , it`s only a tag , they all got`em hey ?
