    G'day,

Does anybody know of any more comfortable options for the pillion seat on a widey?

I'm pretty happy with the rider's saddle but wifey wouldnt mind something better on the back.

Hoping to find something that will fit with original solo saddle.

Have searched the forums and havent found too much.

Have you looked at an Airhawk pad?

Or leave her home!! (yeah I sound tuff but its not an option for me either, hehehe)

Yeah leavin her home is my preference but i like to blow the dust off her and take out a couple of times a year just to keep the interest up.

Had a quick look at the airhawks on the net but havent seen one in the flesh. Do you have any experience with one?

Was kinda looking for a simple fix, replacing that 5 inch paver with something a bit wider and more plush.

Hi Hicksy, I have also been looking for something better for the passenger. I don't mind the riders seat as well,
I have ordered the Mustang Wide Tripper Solo and Rear from J&P Cycles. It appears that most of the rear seats don't fit with the stock riders seat, so I am getting both.
The Mustang seats seem to get fairly good reviews for comfort, guess I'll find out soon.

    Hi Hicksy,

Have you looked in the Harley parts catalogue : Pillion seat -  part number 51404-10 . Hope  that's the correct number. Fits staight on with original seat.

I brought 1 from M&M when we could buy Genuine parts online and both my wife & daughter say it is a big improvment on the original. Plus - its simple to remove for the solo look . Takes me 3 minute's .

    Hope this helps

    John

I modified the plastic tongue on a 2003 Fatboy pillion pad and it fitted straight onto my 2010 wideglide...

Went in to the dealer to have a look at the sundowner seat.
Dealer gave me the seat to try over the easter break which is bloody great service in my books.
The wife and I rode all day on saturday and both of us felt like we had been sitting on a cloud.
No soreness for either of us.
It does look a fair bit beefier than the stock seat but i think the dealer has made the sale.
For those longer 2 up trips it is a must.
Will be taking the demo seat back on tuesday and putting my order in then.

I've tried a couple, bought a Sidekick thinking ot would be heaps better than the badlander but it was just as bad. The missus didn't like it and neither did the kids.
Bought a Sundowner and the whole family loves it. Comfy as and we do lots of long rides but it looks crappy.
I put the sidekick back on for one up though.

Fitted the Mustang Tripper seats on Wednesday, looks good. Have only been out twice on it for about an hour each time and feels pretty comfy, missus gives it the thumbs up, better than the original paver. Still need to test on a longer run though.

Mustang seat doesn't move around like the original did.

I had the same issue..... wife was complaining about the brick she was sitting on.... i bought the pillion only Sundowner seat because i love the original rider seat and the wife is stoked about it ! Also bought the slip on backrest for the stock sissy bar, worked a treat as well.

She is now comfy, hence so are my ears lol

    Hi Dyna12,

I'm also considering replacing the original solo seat with a Mustang Wide Tipper.

Did it change your riding position compared to the original seat? Hows the back support?

    Cheers.
