Filled the bike up friday morning took it for a run south couple hundred ks. How accurate is the range on the speedo? Reckons i can do 400 to the tank, which is not too bad
Yes well i havent actually got 400ks yet but thats what the range says. Around town though bormally about 300. Heading down to brizy later in the year cant wait
Size of tank , divided by .055 (for 5.5 litres per 100kms, about average) .19 litre tank equals 345km .
Managed 346km today on 17.6 litres. That's was including a few ranges, hills and twisties. It's an 07 FXDWG 96cu with 2 into 1, stage 1 Arlen Ness air cleaner and a dodgy Arlen Ness Big Shot piggy back tuner. I was told it'd never get anymore than 270km before I had to start pushing so I was a little nervous waiting for the next servo.
well i hav once rode 320klms on 1 full tank wen fatbob was in 96ci arangement but usally would fill around 280 mark 2 be safe ,1 day was headin 2 shoot clays was readin 280ks on dial no worries saz me dun 320 once well at 295ks bike she no go proper and i goes u idiot u jus went past garage few ks ago fuk giv it a last big lunge rokin side 2 side pull of 2 edge of m1 change down giv another lunge pull clutch in an jus let er roll wen slowin 2 much another lunge pull in clutch garage not far now jus gotta get up exit incline but alas ,she no go now well here goes push up exit with my 1 good leg tryin not 2 fall over can see garage jus gotta get 2 top of exit after a few stops got 2 top then rolled into fuel stop buggerd ,so yep u mite get so many ks one day & next time not as many ks as last ride so either test an see how far u go till stopped have fuel in container so u can ride 2 garage to fill then u will now should get x ks before empty .Well now i hav changed my engine a bit an usally 200ks i will look 4 fuel ,this is all hard rideing so fuel doesnt go far,but last week i rode on m1 at constant well sorta constant speed and did 170ks an still had 3bars lit up on fuel gauge flush cap ,could av done another 60-80 ks i rekon this is most ks on one tank since motor upgrade as normally im jus flat out up threw gears an generally floggin it on not so long rides ,constant hwy ride was best ks per tank ive got yet so there ya go ,only thing wrong with long rides 4 me is my foot an knee tends 2 kill u wif utmost pain unbearable i couldnt move much after i rode bak let alone walk it took 5 days before i felt sorta betta an thats wif a ton of meds even that didnt do much 2 stop pain wen riden didnt think i was goin 2 make it 2 home thats how bad this injury is a lousy couple of hundred ks an im fuked 4 a week but did get betta fuel mileage on that more constant ride SHINGLES
Average 330km - 350km
Fat Boy Lo 103ci SEPRT 211cams V+H Big Shot Staggered Stealth Air Cleaner Batwing Fairing.
On long runs (2k - 3k in a weekend) cruise at 135k (3000rpm)
Average 320 from a 2008 Fatboy (with a fatboy riding...).
Here's what I am getting out of my 2012 Wide Glide. When the low fuel light comes on it takes about 12 litres, so still have approximately 100k. It certainly uses less when cruisin the highway. Tank 13 was from the ride to Yarloop.
I log the the fuel usage every 4 or 5 fills, or when I think about.
320k easy riding open road, light comes on about 300k and out of fuel 40k later.
City riding lucky to see 200k from a tank.
I'm planning on running my 1200 sporty till the first cough. 12.5 tank, , powervision improved standard tune, straightshot exhaust and on 210 city KLMS at the moment. Think I'll take some fuel in the bag to work just in case.
Ok Everyone. When you're near the end of a tank, if possible take a two litre bottle of fuel with you until it coughs and farts when you know its about to stop, and record your tank reading to see what you get. Obviously this will not appeal to everyone and make sure you are within range of a servo, but a few adventurous types might give it a crack and post results back here. Derrr. We all know what spirited wrist twisting does so maybe ride sorta normally or even efficiently should i say just to see we can achieve. Sound good? I am already on 360ks in this tank so i will take a bottle with me next ride to see what i get.
Hi everyone! Whenever I get a new bike /car. I drive it around until I litterally run out of fuel, obviously I carry some fuel whill doing this. It gives me an idea how accurate the fuel range reading is. Example, my XR5 when it reads 0Kms left I have 3 litres left. ON the Captiva it runs out totally when the reading says 70Kms left. Do the experiment, it will give you some confidence if things get tight.
