Hi guys, I wanted to start a thread where people could post near misses after they happen (recently)... I dont like telling my wife about some of them cause she freaks out (she`s a worry wort)..
Anyway,.. just got fuel after nightshift at the local servo yesterray and 2 cars up ahead of me a car stopped dead in the middle of the road.... the car immediately in front mustn`t have noticed straight away and he had to almost lock up... leaving me, amost running up the arse... I just managed to get around the right side of him and zoomed past them both....lucky as fuck...grrr.....
Just bikes or cars too mister careyman?
I was in the left lane near the entrance to a roundabout and had a p plater turn left in front of me from the right lane last sat morning. He/she was doing about 90ish and didn't give fuck like they do it all the time. Dickhead!! At least i was in the workute.
last weekend had the wife on the back for just her second ride. quick little ride to freo for a coffee. not long after leaving home we were heading towards greenlight in right hand lane and a stupid fucking paki decides he doesnt want to wait for the arrow anymore and just pulls straight out into my lane. very lucky to slide around him. he was even luckier that he kept his wing mirror as i was very tempted to take as a souvenir. well once HE started abusing ME i was fucking spewing i ddint kick the cunt off like i should have. gutless fucking prick waited to turn off at next set of lights before he started giving the finger and carrying on too. paki was very lucky wife was with me as i would have suddenly found a reason to turn too. ...... and when is the wifey going to learn that everytime she says "settle down" that this is as good as a waving red hanky at me.
Got hit in a cemetery today. My aerofoil pegs marked up his front bumper. Guy was parked and decided he would turn right, no indicators no nothing.
Stopped to check out the damage to my bike (all OK) and to his car and simply said to the driver rather loudly "are you blind" or words to that effect. He drove off really quick. The irony of this is there must be at leat 5km of roads in the cemetery and only two vehicles.
Riding home from Port Albert recently. Rode into a sweeping right hander, coming towards me a 4x4 towing a caravan is just starting to drift over the white line, I am looking at the side of the road and then the direction of his wheels as he keeps coming onto my side of the road. I am now on the very edge of the gravel and still have the bike laying over a little when he realises he is 2/3 on the wrong side of the road. As he swerves back to his side of the road the caravan does the usual whip thing and passes us within 500mm. I am in between the white line on the edge of the bitumen and the gravel, looking in my mirror to make sure my mate SIlver and his partner have not been hit by the swing of the van. This is the closest call I have had and would have been a 200 klm impact. I dont know if he was asleep or on his phone. Fucking pissed me off cos I was really nervous for the rest of the trip home. Have had 3 similar incidents this year, 99% sure they were all mobile phone fuckwits.
The big trouble with chasing someone after an incident like this is that we are the bad guys. Are the coppers gunna believe me or the family man on holiday with his kids/ the young uni student/ nanna on her way home from church.
Just stay alert out there guys, safe ride.
I wonder if this rider escaped in time. hope hes ok. bikes not good as you can see.

On the way home saw a young p plate girl putting her makeup on while driving, powder thing in left hand whilst holding steering wheel, and brush in right hand, looking into makeup mirror, all while supposedly keeping an eye on the road. Yeah right. Then at the next lights its makeup down and you guessed it, phone in left hand now and right hand madly flicking away at the screen. Didn't care one bit who was watching or around. She will learn one day when it's too late.
