Back after 20 years! Now the kids are older and not consuming all my time, thought it was time to enjoy the bike again. Lucky enough to come across a Fatboy I could afford and i'm away. Apart from feeling heavier than I rembered any bike I had before its such a rush to ride. Still taking things a little quietl, but clocked up quite a few km's In the few weeks I've had it, can't believe I waited this long, their is something about the ride you never loose - its amaxzing. This forum is great - such a wealth of knowledge. Can't believe how many friends have Harley's which I never new and offered advice - been really helpful. Realised one pitiful though, living two blocks from a police station may have ramifications with V & H big radius pipes fitted but time will tell! :-) Enjoy the ride, Bob
Wecome Bob , where ya from ?
Forgot to mention - from Melbourne and yes been a few years but really enjoying it.
Welcome
Hi there Bob, welcome back riding. It was 10 years between drinks for me in the saddle before I bought my Softail last year, so I have a fair idea of what it must have been like.
Thanks everyone for warm welcome. Must be a few of us older riders back in the saddle. It's a buzz I don't think you ever lose once you have had a bike. Have to say i haven ridden a variety of bikes over the years - started on a Honda 90 cc scooter to get to school back in 1974, amazing it ever got up to 60 km (35 MPH) with my weight, but the Harley Fraternity is one of the most supportive and helpful, as I said previously, folks I didn't know who rode biks have approached me and offered advice, help its been great.
Enjoy your ride.
Bob
