anyone know how to change front wheel on a CVO

The CVO is a 2008 FXDSE and removing the front wheel according to the manual i need to first remove the front axle cover using a #6-32 screw (the setup on the CVO is not the same as other harley front axles) 

After replacing tyre and the to install, the manual says to install axle cover in fork assembly and press firmly into place - this make me think that i should be simple to remove in the first place

any ideas what a #6-32 screw is supposed to be?
