Anyone out there put a spotlight on their bike and if so did you wire it into your hi-beam cct or put a relay and remote switch in?   Thinking of putting a spotty on as the road out to my place from the highway is roo territory at night.

Had them on my last BMW, put the relay under the seat, use a fused power off the battery & wire up just like a set on a car, I'm sure there would be plenty of factory options out there, picked up the high beam wire at the back of the headlight & yes I believe ya need a switch to be legal.

I had my fog lights on my Heritage changed so they work on high beam only and also through a toggle switch if I don't want them on.They are putting out 100 watts each and compliments the 100 watt High beam.

Thanks for the replies forum members, I should have realised they have to be the same as any vehicle, ie wired through hi-beam, I assume the hi-lo beam switch's on heritages ect  that come standard with spotties are the same as any other Harley with just a headlight?, would hope my switch on my Streetbob can handle the extra current from a spotlight as well as the headlight. Yeah and what's the go with the yanks  when they switch on the high beam the spotlights switch off??
