    Hi,

First time poster and first time harley owner.

I've been reading the forums for the past few weeks to try to get a handle on a sutable slip on for my new Fatboy. I've heard the SE slipons at the dealer and they're just a touch loud for me. What I really want is something in between the SE's and stock. What about the khromwerks?

    What do you guys recomend?

I will also be getting a Kuryakyn hi-five mach2. Would it be advisable to buy the tts tuner at the same time.

I'm going to fit these items myself. Do I need to do anything to the valve on the upper pipe

    Thanks in advance guys

if you dont want it to loud just leave the stock pipes on and get your dealer to  drill a hole through the baffles plate at service time. doing that and your air cleaner a tuner shouldnt be  necessaryand yo will save hundreds on other pretty stuff for your bike.

    Hi Will,

I have some coin saved up so the money side of it is ok. Just want to get a nice sounding bike with the option to play around with it down the track

What do you think about this setup?

Arness Big sucker stage 1 with cover

Khrome werks tapered slipons or slash cuts ( which ever is quitest)

    TTS tuner

    Thanks

Sweet Hilly thanks for the info. What do you think about those components i'm thinking of getting?

I was originally going fot the Kuryakyn Hi-five Mach 2 but it doesn't make any reference in the specs as being a stage 1 air cleaner hence the change to the Arness.

Got no frigging idea what a good combo for a stage 1 would be.

I'm open to any suggestions so long as the exhaust doesn't attract attention.

    Thanks for the help

All good i'm going the KW tapered slipons, Alen Ness big sucker and I'll get the TTS tuner to sort the air/fuel ratio.

Then i'm going to have to search for a map to suit.

Thanks for the help i'll order on monday.

I see what you mean there seems to be quite a few having problems with them.

    Back to the drawing board

I've been on the M&M site. It's a head root how many there are. What about just sticking a K&N in? I like the look of the Kuryakyn but there's no reference to it being a stage 1.

    Thanks

PM "Retroman". He had some US spec mufflers for sale that look to be between our stock mufflers and name brand slip ons which should be quieter than the ones you have asked about but louder than stock. Not sure if he has any for the fatboy tho.

I use the Rush 1.75's aswell and find them not to loud while cruising and loud enough when on it.

OK i'm going to have to sort this once and for all before I ask poor old Mark from M&M to change my order again.

Hi Hosh, I have the SE slipons, they're not very loud at all especially when your riding with a group from the forums here.

Sorry, should have said "US spec Standard mufflers".

The outlet looks to be a bit bigger than the Oz ones and both the same size.
