Hey guys, was thinking of trying the progreesive springs in my softail after a mate's positive comments on the improvement.
So I put the bike on the stand, took off the caps, washer/spacer and oil seal. Next minut there is this fork tube plug in the road.
How do you remove this plug?
Have I gotta remove the forks all together?
The manwell says that you install the fork tube plugs and caps etc after you have slid the fork tubes back in through the top tree if you have disassembled the forks, so going by that I should not have to remove the forks all together. Am I right or wrong?
Last question: the 2 screws that go in top of forks on the sides, are they there to stop the fork tube plug from turning whilst you tighten up the caps? Reason I ask is mine are made of swiss cheese and head of them stuffed. Looking to replace them with a hex head bolt.
Thanks if you can help me.
Cheers
Robbo
Thanks Ando.
