Soi went for a quick 1000km drive today to pick up the new toy.

    1943 built 42WLA, or so I think.

Now I've just got to find all the parts, then the missing ones, build it, and figure out how the hell you ride it. I give it 10 years or so...

Any hints, tips, tricks, suggestions welcomed as I have never attempted anything quite like this before. So far all I know is that she won't be olive green...

Not stock, but close. Not really sure on the final plan yet, but wasn't going to let it slip away while I thought about it.

Well the forks and frame have been stripped and sandblasted, and are hanging in the home made spray booth ready for primer.

Ok, quick update, frame and forks are all repainted, new springer parts on order, but now I'm looking for a rear wheel. I have an original front, and would prefer an original rear, rather than replacing them both with repro parts, so if you have one in the shed taking up space, or know someone who does, pm me, and hopefully we can sort something out.
Once I get it back to roller stage the fun starts with the motor rebuild starting in earnest.
    Cheers

Been a bit slack lately, but spent way to much time in the shed with a sand blaster getting the all the fins on the heads back to acceptable. Way to many hours huddled over a blasting box, but doing it all myself. Had the gearbox out lately, and managed to work it through all three gears by hand, so at least she spins and is not seized. Should start getting a few more hours in the shed now as the wife winds her business down for a couple of months.

There was some pictures here, but it seems to an iPad problem, that if you upload a new one, all the previous ones disappear into the black chasm of internet death.
Missing pipes, needs new valves, new (old) rear wheel, any number of nuts and bolts, plus more to be found out.
I'll try and get on a PC some time in he next month and update with pics.
    Cheers
