Went from Brissie to Clermont, got stuck at Biloela for the night [Sat]. How much rain doe's it take to stop a 2012 RK. I went through torrential rain it was just bucketing down. The bike just kept going it rained the whole way. I thought the electricts may get wet, even went through  water approx 350mm deep. Can't keep a harley down.

Been through some torrential rain myself a couple of times. Even got pissed down on my maiden voyage. Bike's always handled well and gone fine in the rain, although must say it was about as pleasant as an itchy arsehole. The only problem i've had is some corrosion on one of my relays a little while later. Was a pain in the arse at the time because it was for my fuel injection and I couldn't get the bike started at a fuel station in the middle of nowhere.

When i got home i soaked every thing in wd 40, couple of days latter gave it a wash. The only thing is the horn is very weak, just a small burp comming out of it. I will pull it apart this weekend. It's on a 2012 Road King.

Once road Sydney to Brisbane in absolute torrential rain all the way , it was raining behind my goggles , thought for sure it would cause dramas but nothing , Heritage loved it , exept for the speedo foggin up a little bit and the horn blowin a few bubbles which dried out fine , the bro in laws rooster tails were a bit of a piss-off though !

Excellent advice Mike. I've used Vaseline in the past and it keeps away the corrosion. My '81 Sturgis with Vaseline treatment has never let me down - electrically, even in the heaviest rains.

Must try your solution on the 'Couch'. As being 'modern' tech I've not bothered with the Vaseline approach.
