Welcome to the forum mate. Hope your having a blast on the new Street bob  <img src=" align="absMiddle" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif" />

I have had a fatboy for a week and a half and am still grinning like a nutter (a little like my avatar), good thing i wear a full face helmet, or i might get pulled by the cops and breathalysed.

    Hope to meet up sometime....

Congrats Aaron, I just ordered the Street Bob limited as well. Pick it up in a couple of weeks, can't wait. When they brought it out with the 103 I was sold. Love the paint, not too sure about the rims, hopefully they grow on me. but then again you can always change em.

Well It's been about three weeks of Harley Davidson ownership and I am not disappointed , I just plain enjoy riding my Street Bob , no mod's bone stock . But the constipated sound from the ADR spec exhaust is giving me the shits , I don't want it loud but I do want better than stock.

2005 FLSFI and I went for a ride the other weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

There was one spot at the end of an overtaking lane where  2005 FLSFI was in front at then end of an overtaking lane and he gave me enough room to follow and I was thinking halla fucking elujah .

I have been out on rides and in the same situation and the bloke in front allows enough room for him self and you are stuck behind a van or truck.

Well done. Congrats on the purchase.

I went the Switchback way....ideal for what we want. Some casual touring but mainly city riding.

And...I don't really care what others think about this model. It's my motorbike. The Rocket 3 I had was not everyone's favourite, but I loved what it could do. I was the one riding it.

And this sort of brings my to another point....sorry to dump this here.....I respect ALL riders just for having the guts to get out there and mix it with cars/trucks etc.

Ride whatever you enjoy. I sometimes jump on and ride my young blokes 50cc scooter, just because I want to. I guess I have reached the stage in life when I can forget image and just enjoy riding for what it is. ANZAC Day has made me a bit philosophical..sheesh! Ha ha

Welcome to the forum, I reckon the Street Bob is a good choice. You can set them up to do just about anything pretty well.

Have gone a little over a week without riding the Street Bob and think I am suffering withdrawal symptoms , I rode her to work last week in 5c weather and my hands were hurting and numb when I got to work.

Have a set of grip warmers on order from M&M Cycles (thanks to 2005 FLSTFI for putting me onto them) so I can ride in colder temperatures.

I thought something on the Bob had rattled loose the other week , turned out to be the personalised number plate had cracked.

Will have to find some feeble excuse to go for a ride tomorrow or Sunday :)

M and M are good but you might like to check out Griffin Cycles, they are an Oz site and after I just priced up some pushrods, top end gaskets etc they came out very similar in price when you take into account the exchange rate at the moment and delivery. The website is EXACTLY like M & M's which was a bit suss at first but I like to support a local Australian mob if I can...

Btw, make sure you check out the WA forum for rides, theres a couple of mobs, either NOR or SOR, that go for rides but its common knowledge that the SOR boys go a bit harder than the Northerners...

I finaly got arround to fitting a few parts that i bought for the Street bob a month or so ago . The air cleaner kit was fairly simple and the TTS was fairly painless after  i figured out which was the correct base tune , but the S&S taper slipons don't seem to be a bolt on fit for the FXDBA

The brackets on the mufflers are about 60mm futher foward than the stock items and the bracket that supports the mufflers isn't going to fit , has anyone else come across this.

Not sure if the 103 street bobs have longer mufflers , the part number of the stock items are 64900108 A11-002 & 64900107 A11-003 and the S&S part number is 106-5770

It's been a little over two years since i picked up the Street Bob and i am still happy with it.

There have only been two problems , had a flat battery not long after i fitted the grip heaters (left them on and they were wired to the battery) and the front brake was spongy.

There have been no real mods to date apart from an air filter (had a set of S&S tapered slip-ons but took them off)  but there are a set of Screamin Eagle tapered adjustable push-rods and i will be getting a set of lifters to replace the C lifters.

When i bought the push-rods from the Harley dealer i tried asking for a price on the B lifters , he asked how many k's i had on my bike and said that at 12,000k the ones in my bike shouldn’t be a problem and that they hadn't come across problems with the C lifters (or words to that effect)

I tend to believe what i have read on this forum so will be looking elsewhere for lifters , am thinking Feuling.

I am also thinking of getting a set of Andrews 57H cams and a set of Supertrapp slip-ons , the parts bloke at the dealership tried suggesting se-211's but 2005 FLSTFI said he had those in his bike and they weren’t what i was after (btw thanks for the advice Mal)

The other two mods i have in mind are suspension (mainly rear) and front calliper.

The parts for the cam change arrived today so i made a start and removed the stock pushrods and lifters.

rear cylinder lifters are left and intake are top of picture.

The bike has 13527 km on it.

They also seemed to have a fair bit of clearance between the locating pin and flat on the lifters.
