Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions re a problem Im having with the electric starter on my 79 Ironhead. Battery tests out fine (by battery retailer). Symptoms - One loud click every time starter button pressed, after about 5 trys starter motor will turn over and engine will fire. I have cleaned every contact from battery to s/motor incl solenoid. Could this be a solenoid issue or is starter u/s?  Thanks.

 use a test light to the solenoid the small wire if it lights up when you press the botton  the relay is good  , then test the main for the solenoid to the starter if this doe's not light up then it's  the solenoid ,  if it doe's light up its the starter motor
