Scotty you know shit loads more than me the only reason i am thinking of the sert its not a bad price and the dealer can load it for me I know fuck all about them so what ever I buy I need to pay someone to do it for me and I do like the fack its not another part added to the bike its just updating the ecm.

    Hey Scotty

I tune car performance  engines every day with most  type's of aftermarket software available for most performance cars sold in Aus and have a fairly good understanding of oem operating systems. I have read a lot of your post's and think your doing an awsome job of explaining how to's. I am about to buy my first real bike an 09 softail which i will be fitting a two into one system intake mods and cams, obviosly tuning it myself. I would be very greatfull for any info into why the tts unit is better than the screaming eagle unit. Please excuse my ignorance but i assume that the tts unit reprograms the std ecu like the race tuner. I am buying my bike from Harley City and have a price for the race tuner for $710.00. Any help on explaining the differences would be greatly appriciated. Also if its possible could you send me a copy of both programs so i can sus it out for myself.

    Thanks heaps from Paul.

    Scotty,

I have a limited knowledge of this stuff so bare with me.

I understand that changing stock pipes and air cleaner will (should) improve volumetric effeciency, which will rquire an adjustment of the AFR. Would the O2 sensors not detect this change in air flow to some degree and adjust (increase) the fuel added by the injectors to even up the AFR. If not, then what is the purpose of the O2 sensors in any case.

Assuming this is not the case (otherwise there would be no market for the TTS) could I send an email to the TTS contact you have listed in other threads and tell him that you have referred me too.

I like the idea of not having to plug in another device and would be interested in buying a TTS when I do the mods on the bike.

    Cheers

How do you know what the volumetric effeciency is after the mods are done and the resulting percentage that needs to be entered into the VE tables.

In short, how do you know what to adjust the VE tables too in the first place.

Maybe this will be much clearer once I get my hands on the TTS, but this is the burning question ever since I started reading up on this stuff.

That's it then, I'm getting one.

Have already emailed John and received a reply (very quick service).

He quoted  USD$469 including USB cables, insurance and delivery to OZ (about AUD$740 -$750 depending on the Aussie dollar).

Should take about 5-6 days to get here.

Just wondering Scotty, how does this PAY PAL thing work, I have never done it before. How does it protect the buyer from losing his money and not getting the goods. Not that I expect any problem here as you have vouched for him, but just interested to know.

Thanks for your help. Reading this forum has helped me untangle all the stories you get told from the dealer to the suppliers. I feel like I can make an informed decision (right or wrong- yet to see).

I hope you can answer my questions when I get it all on the bike.

    Cheers

All this information is great fellas and I am sure it will help me when it comes time to tune the bike.

I really want to use the TTS as I am convinced (largely by your recommendations Scotty and Ozroder) it is the best product for the purpose.

There is one drawback that the TTS has that the SERT does not. Local Tech support.

Once I do the mods and load up the TTS and then find that I need some help tuning the bike I doubt the local dealer is going to be very helpful, for obvious reasons. There is no one else local I would take the bike too out here if I needed a hand to complete the tuning.

I am concerned that given my limited experience I will end up with a poor tune or bike that is not rideable.

Yes Scotty, Ozroder is right, you do need to be the distributor and "official" tech support for the TTS. It would certainly alleviate concerns for blokes like me.

    Cheers

Scotty is there any advantages to having a TTS on a stock 883 sportie first before doing up the pipes and air?  If so where is the best place to get one?

Scotty if i put pipes and say stage 1 screaming eagle on straight away wont that lean out the mixture. Will that damage the engine if nothing is done to the ecm or can i get away with it for awhile before getting the TTS system.

Scotty, I have just read this whole thread and realized the TTS has a data collection mode that allows me to build a map through Vtune. This makes owning a TTS very compelling.
I have an 08RKClassic with electronic throttle. Will the TTS have any problems with this throttle?
I have a SERT with this bike at the moment and have had it programmed to run in Open Loop on idle and cruise. It runs ok and as long as I am not riding too hard the fuel consumption is ok.
Do you suggest going back to Closed Loop with the idle and cruise if running with a TTS developed map?
    Any comments appreciated.

Thats good news Scotty and your offer for a starter map is greatly appreciated.

    SEflattops
    211cams
    SEaircleaner
    V&H dresser duals

    SERT

Whos the best to get the TTS tuner from?

    Thanks
