    Hi Guys

    Rigid Shovel

    Having problems with rear sprocket

    Chain drive

Just got new steel spoke rims

Have rear sprocket with offset that bolts to hub

Using high tensile bolts through sprocket with flat washer and Nylok nut on hub side

The bolts seem to be stretching

After a short ride find that I am having to check and re-tighten the bolts

Had this problem in the past when I had alloy wheels

Eventually  the bolts would come loose and then shear off and on the second time destroyed the hub to the point it was not repairable

The previous set up had flat sprocket with spacer.

At a loss to how to rectify the problem

In outer eastern  Melbourne suburb of Croydon

Any assistance would be most appreciated

Even better should there be an old school chopper guru in the area that could maybe pop in and have a look then happy to make sure they go home full of beer, whiskey or wine

    regards

    Slick (Ron)

+1 ozymax make sure the centre spiggot is a good fit  not oversized ,     they should be 5 X 7/16" bolts  grade 8 or allen bolt's grade 12 with good nut's,     white nylon locknut are soft  get good steel one's  sounds like the threads are pulling  , just do them up untill there very tight if they pull there threads they were no good anyway , but always check sprockets nuts on servicing
