i was finishing work, and there was 2 trucks waiting at the lights, so i lane splitted inbetween them and arrived sort of in the middle more of the right side. anyway it went green right when i stopped. the truck went foward, clipped me and dragged me at least 100-200 meters
all the while i was under the bullbar wondering if i should jump off into the other lane where cars were going by fast or stay on and hope he stopped before the bike went under the truck
in the end a car in front was putting his hazard lights on and honking his horn untill the truck stopped
when he finally stopped he came out and sort of yelled at me saying "where the fuck did you come from" i was a bit dazed and couldnt really answer,
he claims he couldnt see me and he thought the other truck clipped him becuase it was so close
lane splitting is illegal so i guess its my fault
one posisitve thing i will say is thank god its a harley if it was any other bike it would not of survived being dragged for so long. that thing is tough! it was digging up tar.
im fine a sprained foot, and few scrapes, (luckily i was wearing steel capped work boots)
worst thing is i wont have a bike for a couple of months due to the fact they have to order some parts from america etc
lesson learnt never lane split around trucks ever again!
im even going to be carefull if its cars.
Lucky you didn't become a speed hump.
I rarely lane split, but when the lights go green, ya need to get moving to get outta there. seen dudes stall their bike or get caught napping !
I prefer the bicycle lane on the left.
You have to be careful. Lane splitting is a grey area and not really illegal but the bike lane is! it's considered as the same law as crossing double white lines unless you're a lycra wearing pedal pushing homo you can't be in that lane.
Oi Iron. Poofs Generally get into the leather gear. Is that right? Fucking hard riding a bicycle in Traffic when your a Tax payer and Motorists think you shouldnt be there. I have had heaps more injuries riding my pushy then riding my motorbikes. I used to ride the Lycra and always as well wore the leather Jacket. I'm not a fucking poof. Adadrian, be careful , you lost a few of your nine lives there bro. Glad to see you made it out the other side mate.
didn't Arnie ride one of these , they must be tough
glad your ok,
best get some louder pipes while your at it.
I still can't see how he got you...Did you pull up and cut in front of him or did he swerve to the left to hit you(not intentially)...Even between 2 trucks there is uaually room for a bike....
