    Hi,

Am looking to update my FXSTC '84 evo stocker with something like the S&S T111.

I like the 111 for its square bore and stroke and I want to keep my kicker.I also want to keep my old evo for another project and do not want to hot that up instead and risk the cases instead of purchasing a complete engine and just whackin it in.

Has anybody experience in importing an S&S complete engine to Oz and know about any warranty available if importing or do we take it up the clacker and purchase off somebody here in Oz.                                                                                                                                                                If you can recommend an Ozzie S&S dealer who does not want to retire off a single engine I would rather buy here to support our blokes.

If anybody has experience in other reliable brands that are compatible with a kicker I would like to know.

    Cheers

I had P&L (based at Toongabbie in Sydney) put a S&S 113 into my 1998 FLHT. I went local because I wanted to ensure that I could get warranty without any hassles. As it happened I had no problems but in reality the price was not that much more for the piece of mind that I got.

Maybe it went out for you however I know several local S&S shops that will provide you with the support in case something does go wrong ie P&L and Branko's.

Not sure who you have dealt with in the past but I have actually made S&S engine purchases locally and been happy.

Who have you purchased off locally and what were your warranty issues?

S&S warranty is only as good as the dealer that you bought the motor from. S&S distributors won't offer a warranty if they didn't import it and the distributors offer very limited warranty support anyway. So if the dealer that installed it closes or you move forget your warranty. Don't depend on S&S for any support whatsoever.

If you can import it cheaper save the money and put that towards the "warranty". Otherwise a good motor.

while at sturgis in 2011 ispent time at the  s&s stand and found them extremly helpfull and their prices amazing unless its urgent consider a trip to sturgis what you save will cover  your flight and accomodation my tip would be to go 4 or 5 days before rally stars its just as much fun with tens of  thousands of bikes instead of hundreds of thousands and you get to see the place grow and come alive and you can enjoy a beer and a meal without the queques even buying fuel can take ages it took me thirty years to get there and it was worth every penny, the trip of a lifetime     regards  joe

Thanks for the tip Joe. I'm a country boy and big crowds start to get to me.
Tens of thousands of bikes is plenty to see and with a broken back, twice - yes, bikes, partying hard into the night is behind me so that's a good idea.
Thanks again. Looks like your chuffed standing there in that sea of HD. Good on ya for making it happen. Would love to do some of that scenic cruising over there.
    Regards, Brett
