Ive seen different posts scattered with no clear answers.

Can anyone tell me what exhaust for softail models makes the best power. Looks do matter but first I want to work on power then decide on looks after.

i have an 06 softail. Any help would be awesome.

A 2 into 1 will make the best power. Most however are well fugly , that's the drama !! Not to mention EXPENSIVE

Stock HD downpipes and balance pipes make good torque , so use them with a well constructed freeflow slip-on muffler.

I find Khromewerks to be as good as any , and well priced

Bonus is , they look EXACTLY like stock when parked up , hard for the coppers to spot them

I currently have a set of Vance and Hines long radius pipes on the bike.

Im upgrading the ECM and Air Cleaner to a Heavy Breather and would like to make the best combo available to get the maximum power.

I agree with Ando and Gregg (after seeing a photo of Ando's bike I unashamedly brought the same pipe) buy what you like the look of Daveman although for power 2 into 1 is the go imo.

On a side note, As HD are low compression I only ever used 91 ron (stock motor, heavy breather air filter and Screamin eagle slip ons, TTS set up by Gregg) and didn't experience any pinging until I put the 2 into 1 pipe on now I have to use 95 ron.
