Is this a warranty issue?

Have a 2011 Deluxe still under warranty. I noticed on the left hand side on the front cylinder at the base there seems like a miniscule oil leak. I wouldn't have spotted it but I went for  ride through some dust and it stuck to the oil and that's when I saw it. Should I make a song and dance about it?

it is under warranty, but you will most likely find they will wash it and send you on your way. (and say they didn't find a leak)

agree with T1, Take it in and don't accept "Oh all Harleys leak, they are just marking their territory"...

that seems to be the attitude of most of them. I have seen a few like this lately and don't know what the issue could be.
Wont hurt to take it in and ask them to take care of it.

I don't really understand why the dealers seem reluctant to do things under warranty since they get fully paid for it from HD not like it comes out of their pocket

Plus that's a pain in the ass job to do....replacing that gasket. Nice to know the newer twinks have the same probs we Evo riders have had for years.

Wash it yourself, then put baby powder over the area you saw it leak. the Twinkies do have o rings at bottom of barrel but who said thats were leak is, it could be coming through the casting. so check yourself, if it shows up after cleaning and useing baby powder will make it easy to see where its leaking. then take to dealer & keep taking it back till its fixed.

at one stage when twinkies first came out they had cam bearing failures, HD said at that time they would replace the whole motor if you had problems. but most dealers, just replaced cam bearing, with an improved bearing. even though HD had stated they would replace a whole motor. well i meet a guy in Texas that had cam bearing fail, dealer fixed that and motor still had a noise. he told dealer but dealer just said was ok. well motor blew up and HD came good replaced the whole motor. this was first year of the Twinky.
