My thinking is that being a vertically challenged person when I pull up I'd like a to be able to be an inch or so lower but at the same time whilst riding not lose any of the handling. If you have any other suggestions I would be very interested to hear them

Personally I would modify the seat - that way there is no impact to the handling. A couple of my mates have modified their seats by taking a bit of the foam off the top and also from the side. Any good motor trimmer should be able to help.

    Hi Yowie,

I to suffer from a problem with small in seam length so my road king was a little tall for me and I bought a low reach seat for my bike which did help and I also bought a pair of boots with a larger sole to give me a bit more height as well.

Hi mate look at this set up, I think if I had seen this back in 07 I may have gone this way instead of the Arnotts. Twice the price but looks good.

Can't see the shocks to take a picture unless I take the bags of.
The compressor is located under the bike you can't see it.

I'm also interested in the price difference.....bang for your buck.  Legends vs Arnotts at half the price.  I have shotguns on my softail and really like them.  Well done on your decision.  Now just the testing........

I am cruising the forum nothing more and saw that a comment was made about hydraulic suspension - here is my ride with it.

I just completed a seat modification which turns my ride into a retro scooter which is why I made the video however look how low it sits when she is parked. I can manually over-ride the height if desired or leave it in AUTO and do nothing but ride it. Yes it raises it back up to full factory ride height which if you own a street glide or have made the decision to put a lowering kit on your bike then this statement will hold true for you.

Once you drop your ride - your suspension goes with it! - The largest issue I have seen with many of my friends here across the pond, is that they want the bike lower because they have a hard time being flat footed. Try and wrestle with one of these beasts when you are under 6 feet, and have a shorter inseam - best of luck.

SO you do what many do - shave your seat, didn't do it 4 me, gel your seat didn't do it 4 me, put on street glide shocks again didn't do it 4 me.

Each time you change your ride you are giving up something. Now your bike might be lower with all of the aforementioned completed, but your ride absolutely sucks. You are wearing out many components by changing dropping your ride with those $35 drop blocks. Now let's not even get into what your lean angle is now like when you want to rock a corner hard. The number of riders here who now have skid plates on their bags is crazy why - because now they have dropped it or slammed it as we call it :) so far that now everything hits.

Any how if you have any questions about the suspension - talk to me , I am www.hdsuspension.com and here is my ride with my patent pending retro seat.
