Repco bike lift fits under 2012 Iron

Well I went out and picked one of these up today (took the car, bit hard to fit in the backpack). I've attached a pic and link to the product reviews page on this site for more info.

Pretty good for the cash paid, can't complain.  I like the fact it (the jacking mechanism)  can be locked out while raised.  I was a bit worried having 250kg hanging in the air, but it's pretty solid.  I was going to make a table but by the time you cost up steel and the air lifter, this is a no brainer. Cost around $118, which was around $100 cheaper than usual.  The lift stand is on sale until 10 Feb 2013.

Hopefully it's helpful to others as I've read modifications sometimes need to be made to the platform on the jack for jiffy stands etc.  I was able to evenly position the bike and lift it without concern.  It lowers smoothly too.  I really just wanted to show how it worked etc.

this is the link to the product review for the lift, www.hdforums.com.au/Default.aspx

I was going to pick up some Penrite oil but need to look into this a bit further regarding the correct grade etc.  Repco are having a 20% off sale for RAA card holders this month.

    Cheers all.

    IE

Fits under the 2012 Iron without fouling the jiffy, drain bung, or hitting on the rear brake assembly. Just take a bit of care when positioning the stand and all should be sweet.

It clears all the important bits.

Ha Ha T1, when I took the photo of the undercarriage then looked at it, I thought it made my bike look pretty dirty even though I give it a scrub every now and then.  I ride the bike every day so it cops a bit of road grime.

    Now to sort the suspension....

if you're working on the bike with it on the lift, chuck a tiedown over it, for safety's sake. I also only lift it as high as i need to get the wheels off the ground, jacking it right up freaks me out a bit.

Nice, might have to check out the local repco and see what I can get one for. Like to do the rear shocks soon, and perhaps the front set.. I've seen pictures of people doing mad shit when not using a jack lol

Hahaha... Yep nice one Eddie that's what I meant!

Cheers, maybe I'll have to wait till there on special again then... I'm in no rush at the moment got other things that cost plenty of $$ I need to pay out.

Hows the ricor's going for you, did they make much of a difference?

    Cheers

The local Repco guy said these go on sale often. Should be in the Easter CattleDog ? I hope to grab one then.

I bought one about a week ago for my Softail. Good design,  bloody heavy though, happy about the tie down strap included too. Only real problem I have is the quality of the paintwork, the weld quality and weld spatter not removed. I'm a boilermaker/ welder by trade and most of the stuff which comes out of china is pretty substandard for the price. I'm just glad I didn't pay full price otherwise I would have been fairly pissed off. My first thoughts were to one day disassemble it, grind out and reweld defective welds, and have it re powdercoated.

Picked one up the other day. With my custom, I need to stand the bike up-right to slide the lift under. A bit tricky on your own, but not too bad.
