88 twin cam,cam type

    got a question about what would be the best cam to put in my 2003 88 twin cam,it is a carby model with stage one carby kit and pipes fitted,i do a bit off two up riding and would like to have a bit more go,all advise would be appreciated,would chain or gear drive be better for cams,would prefer a bolt in style if possible,thanks

    Gear drive IMO. Especially if you're going to have the bike for a while.

    have se 211 cams on a dyna done 20000 since they were installed with later model cam plate and oil pump runs great

    how many K's on motor?

    i think you need to raise the compression to get full benifit of a cam change. if i was you, all i would do is fit SE 1.72 ratio rockers, they look like stock rockers but stock is 1.63. they will open valves a bit more, but most important they open valves quicker close them quicker. so will liven up your mid range & save you $ should gain TQ & HP in mid range  cams can do oposite if you don't raise the comp as they can make motor feel slack down low.
