The 2012 models have a faulty voltage regulator and are meant or should have been recalled.

I'm no mechanic, so im not sure if this could be the problem, but something to consider.

They had mine for 3 months.

Might pay you to try the second dealership in Perth.

    Goodluck

Brad, try spraying some carby cleaner into the hole at the top of the throttle body used by the IAC module (Idle air Control).

You will need to remove the air cleaner to get at this. Spray it up in there fairly liberally and wipe out the excess with a rag. Failing that remove the IAC from the top of the throttle body and give it a good clean with Carby cleaner.

In the end I replaced mine with a new unit as cleaning it provided a tempory fix only. I don't know why it fucked up cause there is not a lot to the components themselves, but replacing it fixed it for me. When the IAC spigot and hole get gunked up they either idle their tits off or run like shit. Stage 1 air cleaner and pipes tends to trigger this issue.

Not saying this is definately what is wrong with yours but its another option.

    Ignition.

If the ignition is breaking down under load it will give you the exact symptoms you have described. A fucked lead which is arc'ing will do this, as will a coil which is breaking down. They are all supposed to operate within very specific tolerances and voltages. Tiny variances will make your bike run like shit.

The best bit about ignition failures, are that they are usually cheap to fix Unfortunately if the sportys ECU isnt logging a faut code, the dealer will tell you everything is fine. Personally, I dont believe all a code reader tells me. If I cant physically isolate, replicate and eliminate the fautl by changing parts or something along those lines.... the lack of a fault code doesnt tell me anything.

And having Frasers feed you some bullshit about the bike being just fine and pulling 12 hours on a dyno .............. tells me those clowns wouldnt know their elbows from their assholes.

Could be something as simple as a dud oxygen sensor in your header pipes.

+1 on not running octane booster with 98! If you need it even with 90 on a stockist engine then something is not right. I run a blower at 10lbs on 98 without an intercooler and she has never pinged.
