2012 103 and others I suspect come with ACR's stock.

What if anything are the consequences apart from starting and possible starter issues.
Any concerns with the ECM for eg

Going to MCR's unless it is the same thread as the OEM

thats the exact set up mate except dyna
    older heads with manual releases.

MCR's should be same thread as ACR's. Don't know if its BSPT or NPT being yank or MM. Most tuners like the PV, TTS, SEPRT, PC-V should have option to switch off ACR function. BTW hope this helps. LOL.

yea if they turn up with the same thread I can give the stock set up a try providing the cable length will allow it. Just don't know what the thread is.
I thought with all the stage 4 jobs around there would be a few current model take off heads available but it doesn't seem to be the case. I guess the USA guys go for local head machinists rather than the SE product

must be metric. cue the youtube vid. he says it at 18 sec mark. 18x1.25mm. for the ACR's. 10mmx? for the MCR's

So the MCR's have a smaller thread diameter. It's 10mm prolly 1mm thread. The ACR's are bigger at 12x1.25 pitch so you can go from manuals to autos by machining them bigger to suit the autos but not back again.

    interesting.
I can do a trial assembly to see if there is enough cable also need to see if there is physically enough space and get them re machined here

I did ask about getting them machined for the stock ACR's but was told it is a pain in the ass. Seemed simple enough on the vid
bloody amazing what you find on youtube

    thanks man

I thought i'd point out when you fit these comp releases you weaken the heads.

i still think the S&S easy start would bleed off more pressure through the vavles and no extra holes in the heads.

also in USA they only have crap fuel so they run lower cranking pressure than we can use here with 98

OK Kiwi I'll just leave it how ever they end up machining them, I guess it don't matter what the fit up, I can turn off the ACR with the PV. If the ECM doesn't like it I am sure there is a fix/hack for that.

Krash I want to use a Woods cam rather than S&S but thanks for the heads up

cant have to much info or to many options
by the time I get the main stuff I hopefully will have every conceivable thing I need and can just sit in the shed working on it and not be running out for bits

As my current build is quite new & not run-in yet, I'm learning the quirks of using these MCRs. So far they're a PITA when you re-start a hot engine. The releases is furkin' hot, for one, & holding down the rear release till it fires up, is the only way to get her going again. ACRs, or as Krash says, S&S easy-starts may be the way to go, with the MCRs for back up. - Rob.
