     Howdy,

Ive ward that when modifying or building a bike, rego requirements are that grips/pegs and forward controls have to have 50% rubber: does anyone know if that's definitely the case??

Some Jap sport bikes have aluminium pegs , and some dirt bikes have steel pegs . My 2c worth.

If the rubber is there it must be in servicable condition. If you put alloy ones on that's fine too. Go figure!

Ah ok, thanks Will. I'm building a bike from scratch, and I want knurled/milled stainless and brass forward controls and grips. But I'd heard an engineer won't approve it unless they're 50% rubber. Of course I'll do a little more research, but just thought I'd ask members here first..

    Cheers,

Mate if your building a bike, get very familiar with the ADRs or expect the engineer to keep saying no.
And don't forget that each state has other additional rules and discrepancies.
