Hope someone can help. Today I started installing a Jims cylinder head cooling fan on my 2013 Softail Slim. All good getting it bolted on. But the connector they supplied is a Deutch 4 pin and my wiring harness spare is a six pin - which I use for a power vision anyway. The instructions said " if no suitable connector is available, 'simply' connect to another accessory wire". I assume they mean splice into e.g. a live headlight wire or something like that. But a bit beyond me to find the right wire I suspect......splicing is fine. Has anyone come across the same problem and have a solution - like an adaptor plug that will give you multiple (6 and 4) Deutch connectors off the existing 6. That would make life simple.
cheers, Marvin
check inside your voltage/regulator cover there is a spare in there. there is mine anyway.
Thanks Will and Nomada. Went through the WS manual today and there's no spare that I can see, only the Deutsch 6 pin. Also looked at the section under the voltage regulator and all plugs used - confirmed in the WS manual too. Checked again under the seat and no spare. I guess they only have the Deutsch 6 pin as that's all that's regularly used by the workshops. Bugger!
rod, Will post some pics of the job.
cheers.
Rod,
I posted pics under product review - Jims Fan......
